Great run! Loving you fall head over heels with the Kyosho kits. I remember when you said the Optima Pro wou;d be the only one you would add to the collection. LOL Looking forward to the Turbo build. That one is going to be epic.
My favourite Kyosho🤤. As soon as it moved I could tell it was going to be a smooth runner👌. So glad it didn't rollover! Shame about the tyre decals but it looked like it was worth it Glenn. Thanks for sacrificing your clean buggy for your fans mate👊🦘🇦🇺
Happy RC'ing! Yeah, that's what this video is about, it was great! Been a while since I watched any of your videos and I'm happy I managed to watch this one! Yeah, it came through on video how smooth it sounded, very nice! I just built the Beetle which is almost the same although a bit lower spec, and I had it out for a run, I loved it! I have a 19 turn motor in mine, low gearing, also plenty fast. The steering is weird but lovely! Cool buggy!
I love mine, it looks amazing and runs great. I have a Tamiya GT Tuned motor in mine and it is about perfect for the buggy! I know it is a bit if cross contamination to run a Tamiya motor in a Kyosho buggy but it is what I had and it works great so I am living with it! LOL
Absolutely gorgeous buggy. I bet it was great to have it running but i bet it was equally great to get it home, clean it up and put it on display in your collection. A stunner!!!! Great video!!😃👍
Absolutely love this Glenn definitely going get some kyosho cars, the look, the build quality and seeing you drive this beauty…fantastic many thanks for the video best wishes
Iv got a kyosho beetle. Its awesome but after the first rollover i wanted to cry! Its getting carpet tyres and staying indoors from now on! Great looking buggy there, deffo brushed motor is the way iv put a superstock RZ in the beetle 💪
That looks like a very fun buggy to drive Glenn and it looks fantastic! I wish l had the cash to buy 2 of everything we own! Because l think most of us, we all really don't run the classic ones enough they just become precious display models! Great stuff mate😉👍
I think I just found a home for my 19 turn Kamodo brushed motor. Damn now I really want this and a Blockhead buggy. Hahaha 😆 thanks for being a bad influence.
That looked amazing, the white and blue really works. Interesting how that front end worked, could definitely see it was struggling at times. Cool car, so glad you didn't roll it!
Great looking buggy, runs smooth as anything, reminds me so much of the frog with the steering, think this is actually starting to sway me away from tamiya?Great vid Glenn😁👍👍
Superb, I thought you'd enjoy it. I love the way my Tomahawk runs, I went all in with the Kyosho brushless motor and it's too much, it's more fun with a slightly slower setup. It will wheelie on demand and is a bit of a handful. I've got the Flysky radio with a gyro and it definetly helps keep it straight. I also noticed that this has rear Hex's so I'm going to look into converting my Tomahawk to run these rather than the friction srtyle setup on the Tomahawk. Great video again, keep up the good work.
You and your pulsing throttle…! Really love this car it’s a classic I too treat. Mine very carefully would hate to roll it especially on tarmac! If you have expo on your handset, experiment it make the steering and throttle much smoother and controllable… btw I’m using a Tamiya Super Stock type RR motor and it’s ballistic
Wow Glenn 😊 I absolutely love this buggy and it was really fast only having a 21t brushed motor. I have ordered me one of these and it says end of July for delivery, thanks for sharing this cool run video of it ❤️👍😊🙏
I love watching running videos especially with the older kits and Re're kits, the Kyosho looked and sounded brilliant Glenn 👍. I would have been tempted to use one of those modified motors behind you lol (better with 4wd).... It would be very interesting to see what the difference is between the motor makes Vs winds. 👍👊
Looks very nice indeed Glenn. That motor is about bang on fella, certainly enough torque/punch off the line and for ripping about on the dirt . Definitely have to start saving up for a Kyosho. Great work by your good lady on the camera 👍 . What make of 21t motor was it fella
Looks great. I bit the bullet and bought a yellow body and wing for the Javeiln late on friday night so there's no turning back now 😀 (I would have preffered either the red or white but no one seems to have them, I think i'll also get the Optima centre under guard for it as it seems a bit too open underneath for my liking) Paul
So Glenn, I’ve got to ask: when will we see you bite into the RWD RC drift scene with a Yokomo YD-2? Or even an MST RMX 2.0? Would be amazing to see a buggy and touring car racer try his hand at it.
4:13 => I would IMMEDIATELY reduce the throttle range down 50% (or more) on my transmitter. I can only recommend you to buy a Flsky Noble tx with the "no antenna" rx !!! I also waited WAY TOO LONG to finally buy a decent transmitter. It just makes so much sense to invest 200 EUR into a high end transmitter when one has already invested > 10.000 EUR in the hobby. And now, my transmitter can even talk to me ;_)
NGL, the Noble is worth the money. However for Glenn, it’s easier to use a cheap radio because the receivers for the NB4 are still as expensive as the Futaba and Sanwa ones. To fit one of those Noble-spec receivers into some of the cars he has is a chore, not to mention the amount of cars he has… Even if he had just THE ONE receiver, it would be a pain to fit the same radio gear into every car he planned to run and that eats into the time he has to make content. Not saying he doesn’t already do this but the Tactics are usually considered “throw away” compared to that of the NB4 and receivers are easier to come by in the used market than anything for the NB4, especially the INR-4 gyro receiver! I don’t disagree with Glenn investing into the Noble but it’s only good IF you’re actively racing and competing. Other than that, the Tactic TTX-240 will do. In fact, it’s about the same spec as the Futaba 3PRK but again, with cheaper, more available used receivers.
Funny enough I’ve now got the Noble radio set with three receivers 😅. So once I’ve moved and set up in the new place I’ll be only using that set of radio in everything 😎👊🏻
@@taimaishu-nao1922 It only makes sense to put a Rx in every car that you own when you drive them many many times a year...I think that Glenn mostly has shelfies. So going for a decent Tx was the right choice. Important is though: Put 2 of the 3 Rx in your "daily drivers". The last one with enough velcro IMMEDIATELY on the Tx after disconnecting the battery !!! Otherwise you will be always searching for it and might even be loosing it...(BTW: Put velcro on both surfaces of the Rx. That way you have 2 options for positioning and not just one - AND you can use the rectangular "L-shaped" surface on front end of the transmitter´s display to secure it safely !
Lovely build! Did your front wheels have a lot of toe in when you first built it? Mine looks like it has a fair bit and I'm not sure if it's meant to be like that or not. I followed the diagrams to a T and double checked everything was lined up nicely. Waiting for the electronics to arrive so I can test drive it.
Great car! I've never built a kyosho car so would be keen to try. How do you go about cleaning them after driving? I just finished my hotshot 2 blockhead motors and can't wait to take it for a spin tmrw. I'm worried it's not gonna look mint though. I also have a tamiya hilux hi lift with the surfboard. Nothing like 80s vehicles 🔥
Hey Glen, great video as usual, how do those 21 turn motors compare to a silver can or say a sport tuned tamiya motor? Where do you get them. Keep up the great work. Thanks
Hey James 👋🏻 Yeah this is actually just a cheap one off eBay but it runs great and I’ve not had an issue 😅 Sport tuned isn’t that much of a step up from the 540 tbh, the next Tamiya motor up is the super stock BZ which is a 23 turn, these run great and make a big difference but they are triple the price.
Do the Kyosho ribbed fronts get stringy like the Tamiya ones do? Every time I run my holiday buggy on the streets I get strings of rubber coming from the ribs
That’s just normal wear, mate. If you’ve never watched F1, the effect is known as “marbling” or when the tire wears in such a way that it forms “marbles” of used rubber on the contact patch. My only thought as to why it’s happening to you is that likely the compound is too soft to run on asphalt. A harder compound will likely not do that on the surface you run on. Same rule applies to plastic drift tires; too soft a compound on pavement and you’ll destroy your tires in just one run and those tires aren’t cheap to replace! Perhaps see if Marwan has anything for your situation. That could help to give you the performance you want while maintaining the factory look you need. Hope this advice helps mate.
I’d honestly love to get one but just can’t afford it unfortunately 🤕🤕🤕 I have an original in my collection but the re re would be to run. Maybe in the future I’ll be able to get my hands on one 🙏🏻
