Karasuma street is main street in Kyoto.
The area around Karasuma street between Oike street and Shijo street is center of Kyoto.
Here is displayed most of Yamaboko in Gion festival.

I don't know why they picked this stop. They should have gone to Shijo street and shown the sushi in Daimaru and outside marketplace with the roofing, Nishiki Market.

Thank you for your comment. Do you say about people around 27:17? I think they came there from Shijo didn't they?Tourists are getting on and off the tourist bus there.

@@glimpsejapan448 I was talking about from the beginning. It looks like the whole video is north of Daimaru mall. I walked many of the streets in that area, and I think you should get a new film of that area showing further east and city life there. People getting on and off the bus is not too important. Show the stores during working hours.

Kyoto has lost a lot of its charm, just industrial buildings with maybe a sad tree out front. Japanese build ugly cities for a society with such high design standards and traditions. Some new stuff is ok but just seem to be open cold boxes. The aesthetic for wood use is unbalanced and seems very blond and somewhat Danish. I love the old dark moody woods in the temples and older homes. But I only lived in Kyoto for 10 years, a lot has changed it seems.

Thank you for your comment. Mainly calm color is used in Kyoto town because Japanese culture is wood culture and Wabi-Sabi.

@asdsd asd It's fine. Don't worry about it. : ) On Gion street old Kyoto remains. However general Kyoto towns also look like old Japanese town compared to other region in Japan.
