In this final episode we take you on a road trip in the remote South of Kyrgyzstan. We switched between wild camps & yurt camps on spectacular locations.
Leaving Karakol, we drove to the south of Issyk Kul Lake. We first made a stop at Skazka Canyon before reaching our yurt camp. After some lake side relaxing we were ready to hit the road again.
South of Naryn you'll find one of the most remote parts of Kyrgyzstan: slow roads crossing endless landscapes and not a living soul. Or is there?
We hiked to Kel Suu lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Kyrgyzstan and tried some more advanced off road track.
We drove close to the Kyrgyz-Chinese border where the vastness of the landscape make you feel very small. At times like these you are thankful to travel with a drone to capture this feeling!
In Tash Rabat the Silk Road caravanserai is definitely worth a visit and if you're into some sadomasochism you can climb the Panda Pass on the back of a horse. Our bodies were torn apart but we got a stunning view on Chatyr Kol Lake as a reward.
We took the off the beaten track way to reach Son Kul, which brought us to one of the best camp spots of this trip. By the time we reached Son Kul our bodies were healed and we tried some more horse back riding.
During the long driving day from Son Kul to Bishkek we got the company of many horses and sheep. They were as well heading into town, as the summer grazing season was coming to an end.
Our trip came to an end with a goodbye hike in Ala Archa National Park, close to the capital Bishkek, where we took our flight back home.
Let me know in the comments if you liked this trip, and if you haven't checked the 3 previous episodes, definitely check it out!
