It all depends. He's had games where he hit a few shots and made a difference, and other games where he went 0-several shots, then turned the ball over a couple times and played badly on defense. It could be fools gold to try because if Boston gets 3 or 4 possessions in a row where the Mavs come up empty, they'll put together a run on them. That's why they're down 0-2. Just a couple of runs that wipe out all the hard work the Mavs put in. They need consistent scoring so Boston never puts together a 10-0 run.

The game is much easier when you go out there and just play. For players in any sport when you’re not overthinking things.

They got 4 good-elite big, athletic perimeter defensive players on their team. All of which can guard Kyrie and Luke straight up. Luka not struggling against fast past on offensive bruh stop it. Bro averaged 34 pts in the season lol. He averaging 30 this series. It’s His team that is struggling. He’s been giving his team literal wide open 3’s! The Celtics literally let them shoot it’s embarrassing how bad they miss. It’s not a god strategy in my opinion because those players can make those 3s but they not right now it’s been working because the Mavs been missing and more than average. In all the other playoff series they made them which caused other teams to play more defense and stop doubling. The Mavs double Tatum and brown which leave Boston wide open for many shots but Boston has very good offensive players compared to the Mavs.

@@purplesky4157 Noo luka always struggles in fast pace. The pacers exposed this about his game. They want him to dribble more and shoot more by cutting off the shooters. This leads to Luka turning over, shooting deep 3s and gassing out. When he is forced to play faster he has to make more reads and leads to late clock passes. That’s why everyone is missing most of these shots are end of shot clock. Then when he does score his way back into the game he turns it’s over due to high usage. The Celtics are high pace offense and defense. You are just seeing the team struggling from shooting not why that’s happening. He is scoring but they aren’t really doubling him just taking away his passing lanes. Look at how they guard Kyrie they are doubling him as soon as he initiates a dribble. Luka struggles at that pace because when you take away his passing while having that usage his teammates can’t score off ball the same as when he is doubled or blitz. Think about why he’s getting turnovers he’s trying to force the pass and then ultimately he’s tired. He went 4/9 from 3s but Luka ends up shooting long 3s when he can’t find the pass those lead to fast breaks compared to a regular missed shot.

@Lister-gf3hi Im not Blaming Luka. Luka is scoring thats good but his best weapon is his passing. The more Luka has the ball the better it is for Celtics. They dont care if Luka scores because whenever he brings them back with a run they know eventually there will be turnovers/ miss deep 3s and late shot clock pass that will lead to multiple easy fast shots and they will make Luka tired on defense force help defender get 3s. This is why for Mavs to win Mavs need Luka to dribble less be in the post and run PnR for Kyrie. Let Kyrie make the pass to Luka in the post so Luka can make reads. That way Kyrie can use his speed have more space vs being stuck in corner. If you double Luka in post this will lead to top of the key 3 for Kyrie/lob/or open corner 3. PnR where Luka sets pick for Kyrie now they cant double Kyrie. Leads to Kyrie shot/Lob/Luka 3 if they double or get a good switch. Now Luka isn't shooting deep 3s and you completely open Kyrie's Game You can tell Luka would rather play PnR with a big get a mismatch and have the option to kick out but thats killing the team. 1. Celtics are not really doubling and thy are not giving the mismatch- leading to no lobs or corner 3s 2. This is causing Kyrie to get the ball near base line with a short clock. giving him way less room to use his speed and the collapse off the dribble becomes much easier. 3. Luka ends up having to do more work because you take away the passing he will dribble more. He doesn't get the mismatch and will take a deep 3. 4. This is causing the other role players to be in spots they are not good at shooting from. The Mavs had this issue all season and would lose to all good teams.When Mavs started winning Then they started playing a style where 2nd half of games the offense was ran by Kyrie. But all playoffs the Mavs went back to this older style. The reason it worked was OKC/Wolves weren't high Iq teams. The Mavs can easily win this series but they have to run more through Kyrie so Both Luka and him become unguardable. Current style Kyrie,Pj,Djj,Dlive,Gaf will not have success. Luka will continue to score but the Celtics are just targeting Luka and winning because of it

Tatum is the most overrated “super star” ever. The only positive about the Celtics winning is he won’t be finals MVP

Are you high? He averaged 27 against the Clippers. He averaged 16 against OKC but that was because their defensive priority was to stop him (since Luka was injured and shooting terribly at the start of the series). They had a bigger player who was still quick playing defense on him and he got help every time Kyrie got the ball. Kidd asked him to spend all his energy on defense to keep OKC from going off and he still averaged 16.5 and got 6.5 assists. That's what the Mavs asked him to do and you're acting like it was a sign that he was bad. Could you sound any less informed?

Lukas turnovers are ass but that is not the main reason they are losing 😂😂😂. Before he even accumulated so many turnovers they were still playing terrible

They allowed 105 points as a team. Scoring 98 points is the PROBLEM. Kyrie plays a little above average and maybe they win or go to OT.

Mavs is struggling because only Luka can score. Simple as that. Luka is the only player worth in that team in this finale.

That's not how this works. Luka is bigger stronger and very crafty just like Kyrie. Kyrie is small he's not going to bully his way and get buckets against Boston like Luka is.

Defensively yeah but the turnovers are because he tryna force it sometimes because he got no support. Luka was like 11-15 at one point. He can do better defensively but offensively he doing a lot. He averaged 25/5/5 for the season (Same as Tatum). He averaged 27/6/5 against the Clippers. He averaged 17/7assists against OKC (while being asked to spend all his energy playing perimeter defense). Then he averaged 27/5/4 against the Wolves. That's pretty skilled for a 32 year-old playing second fiddle to a guy who needs the ball in his hands most of the game.
