So, kz zs10pro < zsx < as16 < ast kz dq6 = blon 03 kz zax : better bass than zsx kz zas & zax: similar setup but can't the difference, yet. This is by far my best understanding from the last 1.5 year. Any correction is welcome.

Ive owned the KZ - ZAS about a week, the mids sounded a bit recessed almost like a V shape, the bass on all frequencies sounds awesome, then i tried them on the 4.4 ballanced and the sound stage was nice and wide, the bass is controlled much better and the mids dont sound recessed like on the 3.5 connection, these iems pair well with the Hiby R5 Saber as its very neutral dap with a hint of warmth, not as warm as the original hiby R5 though, this review was very accurate as allways

Yeah I imagine if ANYONE could introduce a sub $400 DD+BA+EST tribrid it would be KZ... Maybe even $350? I'd Imagine anything lower would be a stretch unless a cheaper alternative to Sonion exists.

In 3 days..I bought 4 kz iems..zex..zexpro..dq6 and the zas..zas definitely their premium n came in a black flip open box than the usual white box. Of all, I like the zas best..can't believe this level of quality at This price point. Enjoying them alot along w more expensive fender ten3.. JH Lola and craft ears aurum...doesn't matter the price..great stuff from kz

Off this topic, I'm listening to the calyx m with the original mest and the letter a tune by the box tops comes on , a song I've heard probably several hundred times but the first time with the mest and the singer sounds different yet very familiar. Sounds like the singer from big star ,Alex Chilton. Turns out it is him. When he was like 16. Anyway I guess what I am trying to say is how incredibly great is this set for me to hear this for the first time. Thanks again for the rec

I have the ZAS and they are unreal! Few tweaks on my samaung EQ and they sound insane! Besr bass I've heard which is all i want! I also use them performing on stage and they sound great. Still getting grips on levels and overall volume of my in ear mix because the clarity on the treble is is clear but can be annoying but think thats a fault on my end.

I realize you posted this a couple months ago but hopefully you catch my comment/question. I have had KZ: ZSN, ZS6, ZS7, ZS10 ZA10, and more. I keep going back to the ZS6- I believe I like the dual driver + BA setup. ZS10 I like the EQ out of the box better, but most devices I can adjust this and then ZS6 come out on top for me. My ONLY downside for the ZS6 is the corners of the body can rub a bit during longer sessions. - How Do you feel about The ZAS compared to the much older ZS6 (or ZS7 even if yOU havent had the 6), and the ZS10Pro? I am looking for the smaller, compact size and the dual driver sound of the ZS6 in a smoother more comfortable body that are being used in the newer models... (and just another note, I originally liked the quality feel/appearance of metal nozzles such as on the Pro models or the ZS6, but found they detach with time and the plastic body / 1 piece plastic nozzles (like the reg ZS10) last forever. Ideally we'd get the plastic body and nozzle with a metal backplate.)

These iem's sounded HORRIBLE to me. I couldn't send them back fast enough. The highs are to pushed forward and the mids is waaay in the background. The bass is ok but the entire soundstage is unbalanced and nasty to listen too. The highs can become piercing as well. I listened to them through a silver 16 core cable from a 2.5 balance port. The TFZ no 3, sounds waaaaay better IMO.

Got my ZAS …and there’s something weird . The bass ( and there’s a LOT of it) seems to bleed into the midds and the BA ( 7 of them) seems to be in a fight for resolution and clarity. I’m more used to the Blon ‘3 and 5S ..but the KZ is just way to heavy ..am I missing something , like burn in or tip rolling to attenuate the bass bloat?

I just got these, and I think I agree. Not only are the mids buried, but they come off as sibilant at the same time. I'll be changing the tips out, but a bit disappointed for the price point.

@@PanarchyTheater I had to do around 200 hrs of actual music Bro g played into them and a couple of hours of tip rolling 😳 Finally broken in ..they sound average ( with a bass bloat) ..if you get the right tips ( without going forward the “perfect seal” ..the bass lightens up a tad. I use them at lower volume at the lab ( where I work) ..so it’s just an ok IEM ..the juice is not worth the squeeze.

Thank you for posting this review. i currently own the KZ ZS 10Pro. I find the bass is lacking. I am a "basshead". can you comment on how these would compare to the 10Pros in terms of bass and clarity? As well, i am thinking about getting the campfire satsumas: do you think it is worth the $400 compared to these? Thank you in advance.

Start off with something in a lower price range. Fiio FH3 @ $130 is an amazing replacement for a ZS10 PRO. For a single DD try a Jade Audio EA1 @ $26. That's less than $160 and you'll have a nice sample of what's currently possible at 2 different points. And FYI both sets stomp all over the ZS10 PRO. It's not even close actually.

HOWEVER, I am quite impressed by the ZS Pro: quite “Bassy” it has detailed sound on high frequencies; not muddied bass…but the FH3 have that plus the sub bass. i’m enjoying both actually lol

@@FM-ne5pz If you own the FH3 you've effectively bypassed everything KZ has ever designed. Good choice. Since owning the FH3 I've never even considered anything from KZ/CCA/TRN. Last year I bought 4 sets and this year I only purchased the MELE which I highly recommend. At $50 they are a must have. Moondrop KATO are probably next for me and maybe Mangird Tea. Out of the 50 or so sets I own I only listen to maybe 7 or 8 of them.

Kz is getting creative.well. 3 dd drivers. This is new thing the q6. But works fine. Then they have these one with a dynamic driver in front of the Nozzles and the balance more far back away to give a type of room sound stage to traveling to nozzle creating ecco. What's their next project, 1 ,,11mm dd driver for mid bass to give bass guitars the rumble. Then a balance driver large for drums. Clean ,fast and no rumble,Then a balance bass driver for mid to give the voice and mids the thickness to voice mixed with a normal balance driver for double tone. Then for the highs a dynamic driver of 4 mm mixed with a est driver to give both tones for the highs. Lol. This is a message for kz. Challenge . Lol

Are these better then the AST?

AST require more power to drive but sound very similar, a little less bass. AST is very crystal clear. ZAS more soft, more bass, louder out of the box since it's easier to drive 6 units vs 8. ZAS Soundstage is very close while AST is farther away. I'd say ZAS is better bang for your buck, AST is higher quality if you can drive it. but would be better if it was priced at 80-90 instead of 120-140

AST weighs more. Also placement of pin is different due to width of unit so fit is a bit different. Overall ZAS less fatiguing to wear. Lastly while AST is a little lower on bass output, the bass it outputs is much more detailed. It's very articulated bass. Both are great sets.

I'm interested with the Tanchjim Hana 2021 (Retuning sound from Tanchjim Hana v1), Now Hana 2021 it's more natural and smooth.The sound frequencies are very similar to Tanchjim Oxygen. I'm searched the Tanchjim, I only found Tanchjim Hana V2 on your squig.link, it's mean Tanchjim Hana 2021 or Old Tanchjim Hana? I'm interested in this IEM because the Hana 2021 is $100 cheaper than Tanchjim Oxygen

Lu udah beli ZAS nya bro? AST udah beli juga? Sekarang udah apa aja nih koleksinya? Kayanya IEM2 ZSTX sama ZSN Pro X gw harus gw jual. NiceHCK DB3 pengen gw jual tp gw demen tonality netralnya

@@wanaboed 😂 lagi nunggu event kali aja ada, tapi gw kurang suka desain ZAS yg pake kounca/fin in soalnya udah pernah pakai ZSX kurang nyaman fitting nya dikuping jd gw jual upgrade ke ZAX 🤣

@@wanaboed Gw dah ada ZST, ZS6, DQ6, ZAS, AST. Semua eartips nya dah gw ganti ama CP100, dan kabel 8 core dr jcally n kbear.
