Since I have started using the ZVX on my shanling m1s, I really love it..it's what I grab for casual listening, and it's unexpectedly good at high res classical, Vivaldi on direct to Dsd512, Miles Davis direct tape to dsd256..
Hey guy, i just came across your feed, i got the kz zvx coming,$10.00+$&p, have the dqs, had awhile, played a few days ago, man they are outstanding, cheaper you can get then get ummm.
Absolutely agree, man. I hate the KZ naming. Their IEMs recently are not that bad but the naming is a total disaster as Sony. The worse naming convention in audio equipment, Sony and KZ.
I just might have to check this set out. Another set that has thoroughly impressed me is the QoA Gimlet. It has a ceramic coated metal shell. I think this set would be to your liking. Meat in the mid bass and lower mids but no bloat or bleed with good clarity.
I did get a chance to listen to it and liked it very much. It's in my 2 for your radar vid. I heard it's on some great sale now for $55. Still I would not but it at that price when the Simgot EA500 is so closet priced.
As a distant second to the PR1 Pro, my fave budget KZ so far has been the ZEX, now on sale for $10. I found them to be fairly similar to the QKZ x HBB, except with some added air & detail up top from the magnetostatic driver (falsely marketed as electrostatic). I returned or gave away all others, including ZAS, ZEX Pro, DQ6S, ZS10 Pro, and cousin CCA CRA. Especially for just $10, I find the ZEX enjoyable enough to keep, at least as a fun-sounding beater set.
Yes, definitely great fast tight bass only thing is going to be making sure they fit you. Luckily the shell is a good design. Also for you anything with a Bellilium Coated Driver would be a good recommendation. 👍
I think the Hola is still made out of resin but ya there's probably some change in sound due to the metal shells. the change is probably represented accurately on measurement rigs but ya I don't disagree with that statement. Would be a cool experiment to see if someone was able to reshell a metal iem and see if it has a change in sound
Lmao. Glad some people still have a raw sense of humor in 2023! Hell I'm a straight female and I even can't not check out DDs. Kind of hard to not notice 🤣
Awesome review as always 👍 Which chifi IEM do you consider to be more plentiful in the area of macro-detail or macrodynamics? I had kz ESX which is the king of macro-detail and thumpy sub-bass. My ea500, s12, OH10, SonicMemory sm2, c2 mech warrior all doesn't come near ESX in the area of macro-detail but ESX has lost the magic with their new batch.
Best I have heard so far was non ChiFi and Kilo bucks was the 64 Audio U12t. But for ChiFi try a IEM with EST drivers for the price the EA500 is hard to beat. I Also enjoy the KZ PR1 PRO alot. I bought mine for $48
@@tonedeafmonk U12T's money worth can buy a land and lay foundation in my country 😭. I have EA500 that doesn't touch nor smell ESX in terms of macro-detail, ESX made t start digging deep to my library again. . I don't know if you've tried these sets. I heard they're good for capturing macro-detail: performer5, Dunu Talos, Kato and penon vortex. Which of them have you tried sir?
You review so many iems, but you never use the stock setup. Do understand that not everyone can afford to buy jew cables or new tips most people will buy them as their only pair.
I understand your point HT, I try to give the IEM its best effort. Remember my cables are mostly eye candy and don't make a significant difference for me. There are exceptions but mostly I don't use stock cables because I don't have much with 3.5mm SE outputs. Do do make a great point and I will try to comment in my video on the sound with stock cable and tips great suggestion thanks you.
@@tonedeafmonk thanks. Always using the stock setup is the best option as not everyone can afford the new cables and tips. Maybe get a cheap dongle with 3.5mm input.
I use a cheap dongle $2 and a cheap amp $5 and my POV generally alighns with the reviewers who have similar tastes in sound despite their much better setups. No way to tell if we hear the same things even if we had identical equipment and cables. I also don't have much money but I always upgrade my cables for looks. Every once in a while there will be a difference in sound but in the way of making something that sounds good, sound better. I've never had a cable change the sound. I've bought most of my cables for $2-$9. I use coupons, coins and as many discounts as I can stack and usually end up with the cable and IEM for the same price or less than the IEM alone would cost. I do the same with tips, they actually can change the sound. Some of my favorite tips were super cheap. I bought generic wide boreb50 for $2, and some great medium bore 12 for $1. Although it couldn't hurt for reviewers to compare stock set up to what they end up with, I don't agree with 'most' people do it this way or that way. I think every situation is different. Anyway good luck to you and I'd suggest looking out for some sales and spending $5-10 extra on an upgrade cable and tips so you can also compare sound for yourself.
