The disruptive taxi strike that broke out early this morning in Durban, has been suspended and the affected roads reopened. That's after leaders of the Durban Long Distance Taxi Association met with KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi. Taxi operators took to the streets to register their anger at the impounding of their taxis, and arrest of their drivers. They accuse the Public Transport Enforcement Unit, Operation Shanela, of targeting them.
