Currently on a two year around-the-world tour, the 126.2-metre explorer yacht Octopus was seen here last summer anchored off Antibes on the French Riviera.
Built in 2003 by Lürssen for the late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, she was designed for extended cruising and exploration in extreme conditions. World-renowned designer and naval architect, Espen Øino, envisaged her striking exterior with a blue and white hull and superstructure, featuring two helipads and an aft hangar. Once on board, the interior designs of Jonathan Quinn Barnett come to life and encompass facilities such as a spa, library, bar, cinema, gym, multiple lounges, a fore-facing observation area, a basketball court and a glass-bottomed observation lounge in the tank deck.
Octopus has a legendary reputation in the global superyacht fleet and with luxury spread across eight decks, the 9,932 GT superyacht can accommodate up to 26 guests in thirteen staterooms taken care of by a crew of 63. The yacht will continue her voyage to the most adventurous reaches of the world, with plans including Costa Rica, Panama and South America.
Octopus was sold in August 2021 with a last known asking price of €235,000,000.
