Jèrriais is a form of ancient Norman French and is the traditional language of Jersey, in the Channel Islands. Closely related to French, it was spoken widely in the Island until 1912, when it was officially replaced by English in local schools.
Local Jèrriais band Badlabecques feature in the 2014 Jersey Heritage Annual, designed for children in Key Stage Two to help learn and engage with the Island's heritage. Together, they invite you to sing-along to one of their traditional songs 'L'Île dé Jèrri'.
