(5:18 video) Threads does not involve system call threads involve system calls also, in Linux there are two different system class for creating thread and processes; 1 fork() for process creation 2 clone() for thread creation fork() has no parameters clone() has four parameters

Very nice explanation, sir. But I have one doubt regarding the fifth point. In the operating system book by Silberschatz and Galvin, they say "Multithreading an interactive application may allow a program to continue running even if part of it is blocked or is performing a lengthy operation, thereby increasing responsiveness to the user." This is kind of contradictory to what you said. Can you clarify this?

Further to your point about blocking threads, I think that blocking a thread when it requests for external means from the kernel will block the entire process. However, if the thread is blocked internally e.g. due to synchronization, it won't block the entire process?

wonderful explanation bro, please keep going. and since js and node are single threaded therefore, there is no point of blocking meaning, these are always non-blocking. Also, please share your thoughts about 'service', its difference with process.

so basically our user level process work as kernal for the threads. and shared data to those threads are similar to data from hdd(process data) and they can also have their own independent data.

Dear sir, Can u explain why we need multiple Process or Thread ? epically : 1. why we need multiple Process or Thread in first place ? 2. How multiple Process or Threads make program fast ? 3. Lets say , There is 2 Process (A , B ) and the have there unique data. So Is there any negative impact ? because we don't need same Data...( No Same Data No Thread ) 4. How many Process or Threads ( in a Process ) we should have ? 5. What if, we have such system (Nodejs) or library (async runtime) where we use same Thread instead of multi thread and reuse same code and data. what is the case then? 6. Lets say, I have 4 core, Does multi thread use all 4 cores (multicore) !? Are they two completely different things ? 7. A CPU can have 2 thread generally. But we have thread polling system ( program that has many thread then our CPU has!!!). Are they two completely different things ?

In process if parent requests to access harddisk or I/O then won't the child process require the same in order to complete the process? cuz as u explained, the code & the data is gonna be same for both....... pls explain this
