In a strange way this reminds me of the my grandmother who is currently suffering from alzheimer's. At times she can seem kinda like a child and it's somewhat reminiscint of this, I'm sure she would be causing chaos just like this if she were able. It's heartbreaking watching her decline, but if there is any silver lining it's that through all of this she's still feels allot of love and positivity and I've met a side of her I never knew before. Its so hard to put into words how it feels watching her go from being the intelligent cornerstone of our family (the woman who remembed everybody's birthday, even the extended family) to now, where she can't even remember how to walk or who anyone is, and yet despite all that she's still a kind and loving person. I don't believe she has much more time remaining and while I'm glad everyone in the family has had time to say goodbye, I still can't help but think this is too cruel a fate for such a good hardworking individual. My grandmother was an amazing person she would've sacrificed all of her effort for anyone in need, she was hardworking, charitable, and kind, and she would shoulder responsibility for others without considering her own. I believe all the effort and sacrifice took a toll on her and left her where she is now, and yet she's still genuinely a good person. I'm not as generous or as kind as my grandmother but I know for a fact we need more people like her, people who are charitable, willing to help someone in need even when there's nothing to gain from it, its thanks to her I know that adversity can only be challenged with understanding and that prosperity is only valuable when shared rather than hoarded. I hope anyone who reads this takes this as a lesson, and realizes the importance of the connections we share with the people around us, because we can't know when, or on what terms we will say goodbye.
