I am very late, I've been listening to L'imperatrice for quite a while but never thought to listen to live sessions because I thought it would be just like the original studio versions. I was gravely wrong, the funk in the bass and use of star synth and the smooth, clear and serene vocals gave this a completely different vibe.
you realize that there's a lot of production going in in live sessions (mostly mastering and EQ) too right? Practically is a studio version too. A correct way to put it would be, I prefer this over the album version.
1:47 got me baffled.Such a masterpiece. These guys are geniuses.Exquisite music. Love every bit!!French heaven, astonishing voice, well versed musicians. When the classical piece kicks in,it’s purely magic.Heavily influenced by the almighty classical music, hear some Bach there, fused with modern elements and a dash of noir.Absolute perfection!!!.A little piece of art.
I had a ticket to see them live in Denver, Colorado back in April. Covid-19 had other plans. I really hope that someday I will be blessed with a live performance from l’imperatrice; truly one of my favorite bands. Bravo!
Damn. I thought you guys were DJs based off of the first song I heard, Vanille Fraise. Then I see this in-studio take and it turns out you fucking slap. Come to Boston if you ever tour the US, I'll be there.
Hi Billy, I speak spanish and english. But I'm learning a little bit of french too, because I love it. "Sonate Pacifique" and "Vanille Fraise" are songs of this amazing band that sounds so so good!
This song reminds me to be okay with the possibility that I was not meant to find the love I yearn for because I am here to show someone less fortunate what it feels like to begin with. Just like how I had to let go of being able to see someone due to death or just parting paths. Letting go is a degree of mindful surrender to the way the cards are dealt and being okay with losing it all.
