Honestly i don't care if unequal length headers hinder performance, the boxer rumble is just so nice and makes driving so much fun.

usually i dont like the exhaust on most imports because of the high pitch of it, i like the fact that this car has such a low growl and a deep rev.

Love mustangs- went to the strip with my sons version 8 swap and 2 friends with nicely done up fox bodies - long story short - I smoked them both with a passenger and a full case of beer in the back seat . It was their tires that did them in.13.89 from an amateur ( me ) . great cars - both of them

STi's come stock from the factory with top mount intercoolers. The air is designed to go into the scoop and into the intercooler. However, LSCHLEGS has a front mount, making the scoop ineffective. Actually, it takes away air from flowing solely into the front mount.

there is forum about his car. The lowered suspension improves aerodynamics, and i think those rear tires are widened and that equals better handling.

i have a bugeye and im not much of a fan of the hatchs but your STI is fucking siiiiicck... could be the dopest hatch i have ever seen. im buying perrin EL and i cant wait to hear my subie.... everything else is done to the exhaust but the headers. love the car man

Sounds good man, Im running the Tomei EL header and uppipe set up on my 08 sti with the invidia q300, I got a little less rasp then yours but overall sound's almost the same. As for the people saying it sounds like a Honda..go listen to one then go back to the video it sounds nothing like it. Still has a little rumble at low rpm's but at higher rpm's sounds more like a Porsche. Inline and flat four two diffrent variation's.

you guys who are fussing over this whole "stance" thing are taking this way too seriously. This is obviously a show car, probably will never see the track or real roads as nobody would ever setup their car like that for actual racing or real world daily driving. This STi looks freakin' awesome for what it is.

@LSCHLEGS Ignore the people who don't realize the (albeit) awesome sounding boxer rumble unfortunately comes at the expense of our turbo's. People in the US don't realize that Japan has been getting equal length headers for dayzzz

It's not the dp, it's the exhaust manifold. The stock manifold is unequally lengthed which creates that low rumble noise. This car probably has a new cam shaft as well, although I'm not sure.

Just would like to point out, many of the new subs, especially non turbo liberty, legacy foresters and imprezas come with Equal Length Headers. Turbo cars come with unequal length in some cases. This change happened in 2004 for the foresters I'm pretty sure, most Subs pre 04' will have UEL. :)

@jouched Equal length headers made it sound like that. Normaly, Subarus have unequal length headers that made them rumble ;)

You have to open up your headlights and remove the amber reflector (the orange thing). To open them you have to bake them in the oven.

yo that STI is nasty hot man mad props

WRXs are the only boxer 4 cylinders that sound like that (what most know as the "boxer sound"), and that's because of the unequal length headers. If you put unequal length headers on an I4 it would sound the same.

It has equal length headers rather than the stock unequal length headers that give it the Subaru rumble that everyone is so used to. EL headers produce way more power that UEL headers do.

It's a fucking rally car, not a show car. Unlike most flush cars, this car was originally and intentionally built for getting the shit kicked out of it in not so perfect driving environments ;) My '04 WRX got a taste of some snow this winter, most fun I've ever had in a car to date! A "flush" car couldn't dream of doing that lol

he installed the ELH to help his turbo Spool more efficiently and increase his overall horsepower and overall performance , UEL headers tend to cause issues with performance, and are simply a poor desing although they sound cool, i had aftermarket UEL headers put on my car mainly cuz i like the Sound, some people prefer the extra horsepower benefit from EL headers .. simple as that , car still sounds good to me

although I agree with you, the equal headers are more efficient and the turbo will spool faster, about 300-500 RPMS faster. But if it were my scooby, it would have the un-equal length'd header rumble ;)
