I'm taking L-theanine with my Omega-3s: GREAT COMBINATION I'm upset that I didn't find out about them when I was in my 20's. No more depression, anxiety (or social anxiety), anxiousness, or stress. They kept me cool, calm, and help me be more confident in standing up for myself and thinking a lot clearer with me having Asperger's Syndrome Because of those vitamins, I stopped taking my meds. I've been taking Omega-3s (The Arazo brand) since 2018 and I've taking L-Theanine (The SR brand) since February 2022. Just like I said" they helped me stand up for myself, say No to people, speak up for myself without worrying what people will think, without getting scared or nervous because of my anxiety, it help me think clearer.

Combine them with cbd oil. Ive got aspergers too. When i take l-theanine and cbd oil, im like a completely different person in social settings. I dare to be more social, and i can be myself around people id usually not be able to.

As someone to has ADHD I recently started taking L-theanine because I've had problems with ADHD meds in the past. It has helped me tremendously. On Amazon I bought Nutricost 200mg 240 capsule and I love it. I can focus so much more now without feeling forced to focus.

@@Zanyzo22 it has. The best way I can describe it is it slows do a brain just enough to allow me to relax and focus on what I want to focus on. As for anxiety i dont personally have that issue. Probably the closest thing to a normal brain I'll get lol.

I’ve had chronic insomnia for 12 years now. Off benzos now 4 years, never abused them. Had horrible sleep anxiety. God has healed the depression, anxiety and sleep anxiety but I still only get about 4 hours sleep and have lots of chronic pain now from lack of sleep. I’ve tried everything but nothing has helped. Learning to surrender my sleep has brought me peace and acceptance.

Thanks for your video. Been having insomnia since 30 years and was taking zopiclone most nites. Started taking L-Theanine 250 mg for 4 months now, along with magnesium bisglycinate and... completely stopped the medication. Sleep longer and deeper now, with lots of dreams. Works well for me

I've been taking it with my morning coffee to smooth out jitters and it def works. Then I also take before bed with my chamomile tea, and it seems to help with sleep too!

Caffeine and theanine in 1 to 2 ratio with 14 mg CBD synergistically alleviated my ADHD with very few side effects. As someone with adhd this has been an absolute blessing for me. I honestly didn't expect it to be so efficacious but I immediately noticed a reduction in anxiety, stress, focus and overall mood. Literally cleared up any sense of depression I had within an hour I was very talkative and happy, and playing guitar intensely focused. I've also been struggling with insomnia my entire life as well as being a slightly more anxious than normal person. For me this is it. This is the supplement I've been needing in my life. It's improved my overall quality of life and the best part is; it's a natural supplement with little to no known adverse side effects and is considered relatively safe for use. I use a combination of L-theanine, L-tryptophan, and melatonin for sleeping. It seems to work really well. After about 30 minutes of intake, I'm usually nodding off just trying to watch tv.

Thank you so much for your video Dr. Im 52 and have been suffering from insomnia for the past 18 months. Fall asleep ok, but wake up after 4 hours. I have tried everything, proper sleep hygiene, good diet, over the counter sleep aids and prescription sleep aids. Nothing has helped. I am also on a taper from klonopin. Original dose 0.75mg for 20 months, now down to 0.25mg. My Dr says the klonopin has nothing to due with my sleep, but I think it has effected it. Really want to try this May God Bless you Michael

Thank you Michael! These issues can be incredibly frustrating. It can take weeks for the body to adjust to being off klonopin. Consider checking out the Sleepio or Somryst apps as well as part of the treatment plan. Wishing you the best of luck as you work through this.

I take Klonopin and I’m trying to taper and it has messes up my neurotransmitters from not producing enough GABA so I wake up in the middle of the night

Were still trying to fix my sleep, but unfortunately nothing really works. Sometime Lunesta gives me some relief. Hope you are feeling well

I wish i had the good effects, I had such high hopes. Instead, when taking L-theanine I got very vivid and strange dreams when I took it at nightime. I would wake up at night sweating and needing to calm myself down. I then tried taking it during the day but that made me feel very drowsy. I always only took one dose of 100mg, so not even a high dose. I’m bummed it had this effect, was really hoping for another experience.

You should look into those dreams. It could very well be that it triggers some healing you need to do. Or u may just be sensitive to it and can get away with a much smaller dose than others. I have personally experienced that myself.

I have trouble staying asleep. I tried L-Theanine, thinking it might help with deep sleep but instead I couldn't fall asleep at all. Tried it for 4 nights then I was so sleep deprived I felt like crap. This is not working for me.

I was happy about this for anxiety, but I read some reviews and some said it lowered their BP quite bad and changed the enzymes in their liver. It sacred me so I don't think I will use.

Taking L-Theanine is calming but increases alpha waves which wakes me up. I need a supplement that will help me sleep when I wake up in the middle of the night (delta waves) that is more sedative. Can you recommend a supplement to take to fall back to sleep in the middle of night

I recommend Magnesium. It helps relax my mind and my muscles. This is especially helpful for restless legs and movements of the same type - very disruptive to sleep.

@@mikejames509 Oh. Sorry. All the other advise is good. Also Valerian. Any good vitamin store will offer much help. Another help is here in RU-vidland. There are numerous vids made to help ppl sleep. I use JASON STEPHENSON's tapes. Some are a kind of hypnosis. Others are body relaxation and etc. He has a very soothing voice and his belief system is spiritual. Nite nite 😪.

Hello doctor my child has mild asd and adhd he is 10+year's.He takes medicine arpizol 5mg and cognicare syrup 5ml in a day.But his anxiety has not reduced taking these medicines.what can I do now to reduce the anxiety.

Unless your doctor practices neuropathy it would be a waste of time talking to them for the simple fact they are trained to prescribe you pharmaceutical medications for your particular health issues and most are not educated about supplementation with vitamins to help alleviate your health issues.

Hi Max, do you mean unless they practice naturopathy? It's unfortunately true that conventional medical training focuses heavily on pharmaceuticals. However, many physicians like myself have done additional training in integrative and holistic medicine, lifestyle medicine, and other healing modalities like Ayurveda. I recommend to patients to find a doctor who has that training so you can get the best of both worlds!

Thank you for the great content.... In one of your videos you mentioned about the accuracy of wearables, I do wear an Oura ring and a Whoop (most recently). My deep sleep - as per my devices - is rarely >10% of total sleep (average between 7 and 8 hours). Also my REM is between 10%-15%, for last month the average restorative sleep was 1 hour and 32 minutes... any advices?

What’s the half life? I’m wondering if this xR L theanine supplement will help with my anxiety in the morning if I take it at night. I’ve had a tension headache the entire die and riddled with anxiety, within 20 mins of taking this my headache went away and my brain opened up to other thoughts besides just how I’m severely depressed and anxious and tense.

The half life of L-theanine is about 1 hour. Generally it's most effective when dosed twice per day, and in some cases up to 3 times a day may be appropriate. Hope that helps!

Two questions please. I have mental and severe fibromyalgia and its messing with my stress levels bigtime. Also for a male who suffers ongoing cystic acne has tried everything, and hard gym workouts are pushing his cortisol up then hormones as well would this product be worth a try , as we have tried just about everything except this.

Theanine can treat depression and allow the brain to release as much dopamine as possible, but if you consume too much theanine, it will have a psychedelic effect, which is very useful for treating patients with depression or neurological diseases. For weakened patients, it will bring serious harm by continuing to rely on theanine, which not only aggravates the state of depression, but also leads to addictive side effects.

Yes but L-theanine will reduce mildly. Don't take Ashwagandha to reduce Cortisol as it will lead to liver failure.

Hi Louise, L-theanine can indeed be helpful for folks tapering off benzos. Be sure to consult with your physician to figure out the best plan for your situation, generally a slow taper works best.

Hi Georgina, that's a great question. L-theanine is generally thought to be safe to take with antidepressant medications, but do consult with a physician to make sure.

Dunno about ashwhatever is (just google) yes is not contradicted with magnesium glycinate*this is what really helps me fall asleep plus has effect of muscle relaxant. Recent clinical study states just to get ltheanine from its source which is black or green tea as proved the caffiene boosts the ltheanine. I am adhd autism use it as destresses a amino precursor that l tyrosine needs to create my best friend dopamine using tyrosine ltheanine magnesium with mct powder and omega 3 ( brain is fats the good guys need fats) has had incredulous results for my adhd and i am soooooo calmed its a little uncomforable getting used to calmed.🙃

Great question! Because there isn't much data on the safety during breastfeeding (or pregnancy), it's recommended not to take it while pregnant or breastfeeding.

@@ImPewPew4 that's a great question. There aren't enough long term studies to determine whether it causes tolerance with long term use. At this point, it's not thought to cause tolerance but that doesn't mean it isn't possible. If someone does notice tolerance, then taking a break from the supplement for a period of time may be helpful.
