I'm glad to see you back in action at the store. Having an extra employee will help out a lot so it'll be worth the time you've invested into his training. Here's to another year at the mall! :)

Glad to hear you're doing well Muzz and the store is gaining steam again! In my neck of the area in South Florida its still a bit challenging to find good video game deals and even in my local Gamestops its a bit challenging.

How many sq feet did you end up needing to start and for room to grow? Any suggestion what decent lease prices are per sq ft? How much space/ inventory did you need to open up? Figuring you want stuff to interest people but need space for trade ins etc. I was kinda thinking if I can offer better trade in values then let say your gamestop that might be able to get items at let say yard sale prices. That is where I usually find my best deals. Sorry lot of questions figure if I can learn from people who have done it might avoid some pitfalls.

I started in a 10'x10' booth at a flea market. that's where I built my first inventory. I started with 14 games and some VHS tapes. My first storefront was 1,800 square feet. I only used about 2/3 of the floor and sectioned off the rest for storage. my current showroom floor is about 1,000 square feet and I have a sizable back room. A starting inventory would depend on the space you need to fill. a few hundred games would probably be enough for a start. Plus some merch.

We accidentally sold The Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 for $29.99 last week....oops! That customer got a great deal for sure! LOL!

I've done that before too. Recently I even had a conversation with a customer who bought something that Was worth more than it's sticker price and we talked about what a good deal it was. I think he left me a positive review on Google. LOL! I've also had people who were looking at an item and I said something like "Oh man, this has gone up in price since I priced it. You can have it for this price, but if you don't buy it, I'm marking it up today!" LOL!

@@L1Games That's funny, LOL! Due to the pandemic, we are only open by appointment right now. Definitely keeps the weirdos out, and so far so good staying in business!

People have the right to not wear a mask, but businesses have policies such as dress codes to refuse service. If you don’t like their policy shop somewhere else or suck it up and abide by that business’ policy.

When there's a governmental mandate, their rights are limited though (Just like all of our constitutional rights are limited) they have the right not to wear a mask, but not if they're walking into a public venue. This isn't a rule passed onto the customer by the Store like a a dress code (no shirt no shoes no service), it's local government. So even if they hate the rule, acting up in a store is not a measured response. they should speak up at city counsel meetings or contact the governor. But Yes, I agree with you 100%. Suck it up! LOL

I have difficulty breathing due to the fact that I have a deviated septum. For me, wearing a mask makes breathing nearly impossible. For some, it isn't a case of liking a policy or not. If you can't breathe, your only choice is to go somewhere else. Sucking it up isn't even an option......unless of course you would like to demonstrate by holding your breath for the length of time it would take to go through a store (about 20 to 30 minutes). Good luck with that.

@@btread8875 I know how masks work and unlike Halloween mask the ones that were mandated provide ample oxygen to pass as if you were not wearing one like breathing through a thin t-shirt. You may have issues breathing with your deviated septum, but a mask doesn’t cut off your oxygen supply. Or does being american make you weaker than every asian country because they can wear a mask with the same health issues.

@@missingno81 Sorry but the masks available to the general public in the US (which were mostly made in China by the way) are NOT like breathing through a thin t-shirt. Masks do limit breathing. If they didn't, how would they "stop the spread"? Think about it. I know that masks don't cut off oxygen completely but for me, that is what it feels like. When you already have breathing problems, any further restriction is going to feel that way. As for your "weaker" comment.....It is just inflammatory nonsense used to pass judgment without facts to back it up. I wonder if you taunt people with allergies in your spare time.
