I teach the basics, the ribbon as-is the default interface. Being a certified SolidWorks trainer since the 90's I've learned - "you don't try and teach interface customization until later, you'll only contribute to confusing the students". Also, the ribbon has the names of the features, making it easier to learn, versus just an icon/image.
vertanux1 OK, sounds reasonable. So it is “as pushed” by Dassault. I have used SW for 20 years. Don’t remember being taught the ribbon. I can’t stand it. It is turned off straight away whenever a new version is installed.
