Ana is one of the best younger soloists at the Bolshoi and always enjoy her performances. I do miss the grand jete at the end you find in other versions of this.
Gorgeous fluidity of movement! Love her style! First time I have seen footage of her....lovely!! My favourite Shade variation....think she nailed it ha ha !!
Her timing was lovely. Even the top dancers have trouble sometimes with the timing of this. Depends on the orchestra for the tempo , different to what they usually do. Lovely 🩰🩰👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺
They slowed down the music tempo so much it isn’t even music anymore. The original vision of this dance was quick and charming. This performance looks like ballet by way of Frankenstein’s monster. It lives!!!!!
No artistry? What are you talking about?? There is an abundance of artistry in every single step, move, pose etc.. the plaster smile does not convey artistry!
Shades are dead spirits (not unlike Willis)... I hate it when I see someone with a big smile plastered on their face while doing on of the 3 shade variations.
the 19th c idea of a 'shade' differed from the modern concept of a ghost in that a shade is a sort of faded out photograph of a person, not that person at their vibrant best. an air of detachment, even of mild confusion, would be appropriate here.
