"La belle vie", a melody composed in 1962 by French singer-songwriter/musician/actor Sacha Distel, became a jazz standard, when Tony Bennett recorded the first English version "The Good Life" in 1963, and scored a hit.
In 1973 the song got French lyrics, for an interpretation by Sacha Distel himself.
On her 2005 album "J'ai Deux Amours", full of French classics, Dee Dee Bridgewater recorded this bilingual, wonderful interpretation, pouring the very best out of the song.
"The Good Life" has also been recorded by many great singers, such as:
Shirley Horn (1963), Betty Carter (1963), Sarah Vaughan (1963), Frank Sinatra (1964), Nancy Wilson (1964), Bobby Darin (1965), Sammy Davis Jr. (1966), Ray Charles, Blossom Dearie, Julie London, ...
