La Catedral by Agustin Barrios-Mangoré - All 3 Movements - Performed by Peter Black
When I was studying for my music degree at university, I learned all three movements of the Cathedral so that I could include the work in one of my performance recitals. I recently recorded all three movements in separate recording sessions, and I joined all the three movements together in this video so that you can listen to the whole piece in one video. Barrios was also referred to as the great Paraguayan, recognised for both his virtuosic skill as a performer and his ability to write amazing works for the guitar which are celebrated within the canon of classical guitar music.
The Three Movements of La Catedral by Agustin Piu Barrios-Mangoré are:
I - Preludio Saudade
II - Andante Religioso
III - Allegro Solemne
This piece was recorded in three separate sessions at Rokit Studios in West London. The recording and video engineering was done by Mark Rose.
The guitar I used is a 2011 Filipe Conde FP14 NA CW, made in Madrid.
