Thanks to everyone who kept up with the channel during offseason/draft coverage! Pleasure to be a (small) part of it all with you guys. Who was your favorite bolts pick?⚡️ -Alex

I actually liked Eboigbe a lot. I think his production was underrated, especially playing in the SEC. He got 7.5 sacks and 11.5 TFL along with 64 tackles. He might not have Johnny Newton’s athleticism or arsenal of moves, but he had better production and we got him in the 4th round. I’m not saying he’s as good as Newton, but there’s something to say for a guy with a motor who can get home, particularly along our defensive line playing with other high motor guys like Tuli and Mack. The sum of those parts has a chance to be something special, especially if our DB’s and LB’s can do better in coverage than last year.

Totally agree about reaching for Still. And he may still (pardon the pun) pan out, but the value of the draft imo was round 4 to early 5. Missing out on Van Pran, Nourzad and Limmer was excruciating, even though i loved the draft as a whole

Yeah, the sting is lessened by getting Hart two picks later but I was certainly thinking of some different names there. -Alex

@@guiltyascharged7752 yes, i was thinking we should trade down in the 3rd and try and snag Hart (before Colson fell in our laps) so getting him in the 5th was amazing

A real question why are so many people stumping for this draft? Honestly I can't see that they did anything different than anyone before. They went for need , reached for players & drafted projects. Instant starters because of need not because of talent that's a poor business model.

Excited to watch Joe Alt this season. Haven’t been into O-Line since seeing Slater and Sewell dominate and now I understand the importance of it. Hoping he destroys Crosby and anyone else from touching my QB

I think Jim Harbaugh said nice things about Pipkins to get his trade value up. I’m catching up to Jim Harbaugh’s way of doing things. Maybe he’ll trade him for a guard. 😊

How you can say that lad will be #1 Wr he's not one & basically goes against this whole new regimes agenda if they wanted a #1 they would have drafted one. They didn't.

@@guiltyascharged7752 even over Palmer? I just think with the new system they are going to put in that Palmer might get the most as a WR that's just because he's been in the NFL & can actually play both positions slot & outside. I get he doesn't have the speed but he's a much better route runner & understands what the Defense is trying to do. I could be wrong.

Had Minnesota offered 11 and 23 like we thought might happen, would you have preferred taking Alt (5) + McConkey (34) or JC Latham/Fuaga (11) + Terrion Arnold (23) + McConkey (34)? Or even RT (11)+ McConkey (23) + JPJ/Frazier (37, and keeping pick 110)?
@guiltyascharged7752
@guiltyascharged7752 5 месяцев назад
Probably the Arnold scenario out of those listed. But yeah, would've been sweet. Minnesota just realized the demand for JJ wasn't that high going in. -Alec

Ladd is my favorite pick. I think the nfl is moving towards smaller dynamic receivers. Every team has big corners and play a ton of two high. Against a good pass rush the bigger guys just don't uncover fast enough and against big corners contested catches are just not the way to live and die by, and in the playoffs it becomes even harder to come down with them. The thing you can't guard no mater how fast or big you are or play is agility. I think the zay flowers, tank dell, joshn downs, ladd archetype is going to be more and more valuable going forward. There's a reason brady always had a slot guy with juice across his tenure and those guys were always his go to. So while slot types typically get devalued because it's so much harder to find guys who win on the outside, winning on the outside with aj brown or new england randy moss is a luxury it's not your meat and potatoes. This offense is gonna eliminate the outside stuff in favor of way higher percentage plays over the middle (using the width of the field horizontally instead of vertically against the boundary). And the slot/z receiver is critical to punishing defenses that are overly aggressive against the run. When you have to worry about a slot receiver with that kind of agility it just makes it so much harder to come downhill on a running play because you have to respect him in motion in the end around, or getting in the space lbers vacate or getting that half step/second behind that means the've 100% lost the rep vs him. I think Ladd has one of the higher potentials to be an all time great slot/z receiver. He's got enough wiggle, plenty of juice, and he's already ahead of the curve in terms of understanding leverages and running routes using deception. Guys like that tend to only get better and better. He's still got some ways to go but he's ahead of the curve.
@guiltyascharged7752

Yeah, I think Ladd will be solid. Rare that you get a player as toolsy as he is with YAC threat. -Alex

Everything QJ does well, Cornelius does better. From RAS, to speed, to moving in space to ball tracking, to special teams. Cornelius will send QJ to the practice squad.

Ehhhh, Cornelius had some of the same issues with focus drops last year in addition to not totally fluid route running either relative to QJ. -Alex

I don’t think QJ is going to the PS, but he better step up his blocking over last season. And he better start running his routes at 100% regardless of whether he thinks he’s getting the ball. Because i can see him riding the bench because of effort lapses with Harbaugh as HC
