I live here, it has its issues, high taxes, crappy streets, schools that are mediocre at best and have a severe discipline problem (lack there of) and a city government that has forgotten the people that live here and pay taxes. They spend their time worrying about a select few and spend other peoples money on things that make them feel good. But it is a beautiful area with rivers and bluffs to explore I would recommend visiting but think of some other nearby town or city to live it your considering.

My wife and i plan on vacationing in La Crosse this summer. Are the people friendly to outsiders and, should we be concerned about crime.

I’m sure people will be very welcoming and you should not have to worry about crime, La Crosse is a safe city. Enjoy your trip! La Crosse summers are beautiful!

If you like drug dealers and tweakers and dont mind dirty needles and rude folks who feel self entitled to there needs and not others have at it and crime is on the rise you can google the statistics plenty other beautiful places but lacrosse isn't one of them

@@johnmeadows5645 i live here and ain't gonna bs someone for a buck like most so best of luck to you in finding a nice place to visit this summer wish my community was as nice as they make it out today but gas is 3.98 to 5.25 a gallon an most folks are rude here either cuz there homeless or they have money and feel there better then anyone so if I can help save someone from the grief and hassle this town gives damn straight I'll tell folks the real truth and not sugar coat it
