la dispute drinking game: listen to somewhere at the bottom of the river... and drink every time jordan says darling, dear, love or asks a question. xD

This is by far the best live video I've seen... never saw a crowd so compromised with what the band was singing, they even knew a twelve minute song complete, and that alone means how much La Dispute music means to them... The Last Lost Continent is an amazing song with so much to say, yet so little time to be said in. There's so much to say... yet I'll just say that I'm starting to love their music and hopefully they'll come to my country one day, along other bands from the "scene"...
I've had the privilege of seeing la dispute live, where they didn't take the stage but the floor, and asked everybody to gather round them. It was the single greatest night ever. i was litterally face to face with jordan dryer the entire set. they also played with touche' amore' that night. I'll never forget that night
something that probably goes unnoticed, I love how the video starts during daylight with a heavier set,and then the hype dies down a bit as it fades into night, Great set.
I don't know, but if you're looking for bands in this genre then Touché Amoré and Me Without You are too. Other similar bands (some are a stretch): Listener, Pianos become teeth, Million Dead, Defeater, The Elijah, My heart to joy and Brand New.
@horrorshow64 That's Jeremy Bolm the vocalist from Touché Amoré. The song is called why it scares me and you can find it on the split Searching for a Pulse/The Worth of the World from La dispute and Touché Amoré. Fucking love that song :D!

@horrorshow64 That's the lead singer of Touche Amore. La Dispute did a split with them, I don't remember the name of the song exactly but it's on that split.
Their sound is definitely original. No Post Hardcore band, excluding early Mewithoutyou match up to this standard of poetic lyrics, musical alternations/shifts or intensity.
Which reminds me... I'm going to a Touché Amoré concert tomorrow... I have no idea why I'm writing this, but I just read my own comment so I feel like it.
new storms for older lovers is so good live i saw them last night and they played it and is was fucking great.only baad things were that they played mostly wildlife. i wish they played vancouver or somewhere but watcha gonna do
There is a genre called "The Wave" underneath it fall five artists: Defeater, Touche Amore, Make Do and Mend, Pianos Become The Teeth and La Dispute. So I guess you could call this genre The Wave, there's a bit of info on it in the "Influences and Legacy" part of LD's wiki page. And before anyone says shit to me about how this isn't true, relax: Jordan said this stuff in an interview...
This is the way a show should be, if people didn't go on stage and try fucking with the bands. People who hate bands go to their concerts and throw shit at the bands, and because of them there's security gurads and barriers. If you don't like a band, don't see them live. Simple as that, let people have fun and enjoy the show.
Spoken Word Hardcore I guess. If you're looking for similar bands, check out Silencer by MewithoutYou, some Touché Amoré (especially the split-album with la dispute) or maybe Million Dead.
Because THAT'S what you meant by download. You buy music on iTunes. You should probably suggest that instead of telling people to just download music. Even if it's not what you meant, I don't really care but it's not what other people are going to think when you say that.
