Brutal pedal stroke by Stephen Williams. It's not how much power you have, it's how long you can maintain it. I'm not surprised that UAE supposedly has the strongest team but wins practically only with Pogačar. (2 Ayuso, 1 Hirschi...I think)
I know what you mean with UAE has the strongest team but doesn‘t win but in this season the story isn‘t that true. UAE has the team that wins with the most different riders this season (check PCS). But today it was a completely different scenario with the heavy rain. Their riders have gone out with 60k to go. They just couldn‘t deal with the cold and the rain.
Interesting, to me at least, that some pro racers in Europe now wear long leggings in cold weather. The sport is often bound by tradition, and they used to all wear shorts even in freezing weather.
Amazing acceleration from the Lad. Don't know if the numbers back it up but that finish looked much slower than most of the previous years, I guess the conditions took their toll.
msr is torally flat, can't compare it to this race. Msr you never can predict the winner but most of the time (not this year) on this race you can know the winner before the start
