I'm 18 & Wish I Grew Up In These Days 😔

When I first heard La Mafia from Houston, TX, I was a 20 year old Marine stationed in 29 Palms, California back in 1981. My chicano friends, on base, and I were blown away! The following year while on leave in the RGV, I saw them live at la Villa Real! And a few years later when I became a DJ at KIRT La Fabulosa de Mission, TX, I interviewed Oscar the lead singer. It was cool. I love these memories! Que viva La Mafia y su music Tejana!

sin duda buen grupo la Mafia, lastima que entre tantas innovaciones y arreglos en su musica, terminaron perdiendo el estilo y el sonido tejano. quien los escucha ahora no encuentra un solo vestigio de musica tejana. pero aun asi, despues del grupo mazz, creo que la mafia es de los grupos importantes que lograron trascender, y de los primeros que triunfaron en mexico. la mafia ha sido consistente, se ha mantenido en el animo de la gente, aunque ya muy alejados del sonido tejano. lastima.
