I was familiar with this area while stationed at the NATO HQ in Bagnioli. I had an apartment at 13 Via Discesa Gaiola. Back then the area had not been excavated and the two story building shell was the Villa Rosa and inhabited by a British Royal Navy officer and his family. Ground level at the time was at the arched doorways.
