LA Sparks' Rickea Jackson meets with SportsCenter's Linda Cohn to talk about her rookie season and so much more. #WNBA #LASparks #RickeaJackson #SportsCenter
LOL your Brothers are your Villain Origin Story Rickea? That's got a burst of laughter from me...Keep going, you got a fan in me. The City is rooting for yall to put it together soon....
The #2 Rookie of the Year! If it wasn't Caitlin, it would've been Rickea! So underrated. Can't wait to see what she brings next season. When she gets hot, she reminds me of Aja.
Love Rickea but come on now despite Angel's offensive struggles she lead in so many categories its silly to place any rookie but Caitlin above her. That's not to say Angel's a better player either.
@@Momula101 Rickea beats Angel in scoring across the board in multiple stats. Angel just beats her (and everybody else) in rebounding. Categories-wise, it's 5-5 out of the top 10 WNBA stats and most of the stats that Angel tops Rickea is by literally 1/10th of a point. Stats-wise, they're equal, however, Rickea has put up WAY more points and has WAY greater shooting stats than Angela and while rebounds could possibly result in a point, points ALWAYS result in points and there, Rickea dominates Reese. Rickea has 535 points to Reese's 462, Rickea has 44 3-pointers to Reese's 3 3-pointers and most importantly, her FG% is .456 to Reese's .391.
@@GreatlinClarkFan-c5h you don't have to defend Rickea she's my favorite player but Reese obliterated the DD and Rebound records and she set the record in rebounds in season and didn't play the last 6 games. That's nuts. She had the highest rebound avg by FAR in league history. Rickea didn't start initially which hampered her. She shot the best out of rookies sure. But her averages are not eye popping. Stop ignoring rebounds so you can make a point rebounds matter. Rickea also played 6 more games so their point totals are about the same.
@@Momula101 Yeah, because she missed so many shots (which is why she's the poorest shooter in the entire league coming in dead last) that she was catching on average 3-4X as much her own rebounds as any other player in the league. Everybody knows that. I don't judge rookies by averages because they all start out super slow and ramp up their numbers by the end of the season. For example, Caitlin Clark averaged 19 points for the season, right? That's more than 75% of the pro (non-rookie) vets. However, after the 2nd half started, she averaged 24 points per game. 19 was great enough, but 24 points is elite level playing. Rickea did the same thing, she just continued to progress and her numbers were much better than when she started. Reese was the opposite. Her numbers crumbled as the season went on (poor scoring, poor shooting, out for the season because Rickea broke her wrist, etc...).
@@Momula101 Oh yeah, and nobody cares about rebounds except Angel Reese fans. That's her job. She's supposed to get rebounds. But it's a fact that the overwhelming majority of those rebounds came from her own missed shots which is an embarrassment really. There's no skill in throwing the ball up at the hoop, missing the shot and catching it again. Kids do that in driveways everyday in America. 🙂 As for Rickea, she needs no defending. She's undeniably the #2 rookie in the WNBA hands down. Her numbers speak for themselves and she's undeniably done more to contribute to her team's wins (even in a horribly losing team) than Angel Reese has for her team. I can't wait to see what they do next season. Rickea's going to start to break records (in fact, she's broken some already).
I had never watched this league. Someone invited me to a game when LA was in town. As they were entering the arena I said “who’s that model coming down the hall”. They said “that’s Rickea Jackson”. I’ll be watching more often😍
