Years ago, I bought a “fake” La-Z-Boy”. It was cheap and comfortable like a real La-Z-Boy. Within a couple of years, I started to notice hardware (bolts and nuts) laying loose around and under the chair. Soon, the “fake” leather began to peel like a bad sunburn. I was so pissed off,I went to my local La-Z-Boy” and ordered my first genuine La-Z-Boy. It was expensive, but after 10+ years, it still as good as day one. I thought I’d have buyer’s remorse for spending so much $$$, but no regret.
I will never buy La-Z-Boy again, even though I spent nearly $6500 last year on furniture. My glider rocker after six months had a tear in the trim. I submitted a claim to the protection plan, which cost $90, and it was denied. I will never ever shop for La-Z-Boy again, there are too many competitors! 😢😢
This is the best LazBoy training I’ve ever seen. Thank you! Is there any way to get a transcript? Tons of information!!! It’s a bit out of date. But most still very relevant.
Bought my LaZboy Lift and Recline Chair 1LF505 in February of 2012 at the store in Franklin, TN. Had one problem with the lift mechanism three years ago. If was replaced right away. Great customer service in Nashville. When this chair has to be replaced, this store will be my first visit.
If you think todays La-Z-Boy recliners are the “be all, end all”... you are poorly mistaken and overpaying for an inferior recliner. I had an old LB recliner and it was built well. Lasted 22 years. I would buy Bradington Young over LB now if that was my price range. However, I wanted another 22yr to lifetime chair..... so I bought a Hancock & Moore Ghent recliner with power head adjustment. It’s heaven!
@@rainerrain9689 yeah…. I’m no longer impressed. Our chair creaks and groans when the mechanism is being used. It’s an extremely over-hyped and over-priced manufacturer.
Thank you for your review and sales points. My family just bought a Clayton Gold power lift recliner and 2 Hunter rocker power recliners and we are in love. I want to visit the plant in Dayton TN.
I've had my big guy leather recliner/rocker since 2008. I had to have the ratchet mechanism replaced a couple years back and only now am looking into replacing the seat poly foam, which only lasts about 5 years from what the service tech told me. This chair has been heavily used and is one I would buy again, no doubt. The service call did cost me $100 but all reclining mechanism parts were covered. No China recliner for me...me love my recliner long time...
I have read most of these posts, a lot of complaints. My parents had these chairs since the 50's. I bought my first two LB's in 1981. swivel rockers. Still in my ownership. Sat in for years and years. I am 6'2", now 230lbs. So, not exactly a slight built man. I bought two more in 2002. Rocker/Recliners. I guess I must of hit the jackpot because All of my chairs have NEVER experienced a failure. NO tears, or general cloth cover breakdown. So, with my personal experience in hand. I am going to be buying a new entertainment love seat style. Lazyboy has some nice features and certainly, Yes, I will be looking at them. This company has been golden in my book. They have always been innovative in build and function. Great video.
I bought two leather products from lazy boys: one is a rocking recliner with faux leather, another is an office chair from staples ( with lazy boy as manufacturer). Both leather disintegrated to pieces in 2-3 years. Quite disappointed with the quality. Buyer beware.
Just shopped for a new recliner. Lazy Boy looked well made, but old fashioned. Didn't care for any of them, though I did like the memory positions on some of them. That was a really neat feature. Didn't like the rocking. Felt like the chair was running away from me when I sat down. Feet weren't on the floor, so felt like Lily Tomlin! Headrests weren't comfortable and didn't adjust up enough to watch TV. Really wanted to buy one...but...
I spent 1600 on two lazy boys in 2008. They both turned out to be a real piece of shit. The repair was half the cost if not more like 3/4 the cost of a new one. My older Lazy Boys are fine. What happened to Lazy Boy's Quality.
Mine broke the first day I had it, then broke 2 more times before the spring under the cushion broke. I will never by another LA-Z-Boy for as long as I live. Give me LANE or nothing.
What do you do for a chair that creaks and scrubs and creaks when lowering . The people that I bought it from told me to oil it .I paid 1,000 dollars for this chair .did they take advantage of my granddaughter, I had broken my left arm and had bad knee so I had to have this chair ..
i have La-Z - boy Recline that has power lift it is failure checked the power supply found ok it has a two motor i do not know what is model of motor , can help
If I let the girl sit on top while I sit on a La-Z-Boy, what if her mother comes in and yells, "Get off that lazy boy!!" Should I get off the chair or should the girl get off me?
Tried chair in store not noisy but the one I got that was wrapped up when got home it is very very noisy opening and closing. Nobody can use it if anyone in the house is asleep. Scrappy very loud noisy ratcheting sound!!!!
@@georgeslavin6137 It is stronger in sheer, as used for the web of "I beams' , weaker in flexural strength such as used in sub-flooring. The important point is it is cheaper.
the leather in rocker is a 010713...tripoli recliner. Can be wallhugger or rocker, power chair or power plus chair...available as sofa and loveseat with and with out console. La Z Boy Lansing ask for Terry.
Informative. I've not had problems with the actual FRAME... but the JOINTS in the frame coming apart. Several times I have just had to repair the chair myself by reinforcing the joints with metal plates and screws, because the joint simply came apart. However, lazyboy is the ONLY brand I can use, the way other brands are designed, will cause back issues.... and primarily, you have to use your legs to FORCE down the footrest on other brands, where lazy boy's ratchet mechanism you can drop the footrest with a flick of the wrist.
My wife purchased me a La-Z-Boy before I realized all of the deficiencies with the seat cushions not being available for replacement after five years and joints like you’re saying. I feel into the trusting the name because this is what my dad had for years. But unfortunately I’m probably going to keep it simply due to the functionality. I just hope it last a bit longer with the higher density foam and my frame doesn’t come apart.
Had a lazy boy some of the reclining mechanism broke and lazy boy guaranteed the parts but I would have to use thier repair people at 135.00 per hr . Took the air out of my satisfaction with lazy boy but still I will buy another chair from lazy boy . They need to adjust their guaranteed.
KlassicKrusty leg also tilts the back, but you can tilt the back forward. also, you can adjust the lumbar and headrest on the ones i tried (astor my favorite bc tall and the headrest pillow)
Jimmy G. It's Pinnacle Power with 4 side power buttons on side. Ack # is 511201110-034-002. The footrest raises up & down fine. The reclining part starts with a definite lurch to the left & struggles to go back. Cannot find a repair place , parts etc. pd over$1300
I don’t see anything lazy about a lazy boy chair it looks more like a workout chair😒 how are you supposed to use this chair if you have a bad back you would throw your back out trying to lean it backwards. It’s an old design. Power recliner is what you need and they have battery 🔋 backup if you loose power. Just got one. No Herky jerky crap to recline it
Power chairs are like being in the hospital. You are reclined and need to get up to pee. Press the call button for the nurse and wait. Good luck on which happens first.
After paying $3,000 plus for my custom leather and custom color recliner, it was an authentic Lazy Boy and an authentic disappointment. After having it and using it with respectable care for only 4 years, I was raising the footrest and heard cracking noises. I stopped immediately, but 5 plastic pieces and a metal piece just fell onto the floor. This affected the footrest function and a couple of other functions, making the structure a bit dilapidated. Will the intended repair reconstitute the chair. I'm preparing myself for a disappointment. I don't know if they will ever fix it, they have made and canceled two appointments to repair it now that I have the new parts. I now have a 3rd appointment for next week. Will they come?
Worst piece of junk I ever bought! The only thing worst, was the customer service, that unfortunately, escalated from the branch store I bought it from to the national level, and just kept going downhill. Buyer beware. Just don't buy; too many other good products out there. This guy is a salesman who works for La-Z-boy--what else do you expect him to say other than his product is great. It isn't. $3000 down the tubes.
actually he is not a salesman, he is a rep for the company. Most la z boy are small family owned franchise stores. Corporate has been reaquiring stores though. Pretty broad statement for the second largest furniture manufacturer on earth. Furthermore complaints like this are typically those who custom order then decide they dont like it after delivery. Well terms and conditions are signed with every sale and la z boy is up front about everything. Unless you bought from Art Van lol....
In addition: the defect was a broken weld off of a metal piece which supported the leg lift linkage. So nothing worked when it broke off. This was definite a manufacturing defect which they refused to do anything about. See below!
