1:04 that’s me or the right next to the truck camper in the Orange jacket! I knew you where going to be there, like last year. This was my third year and I still study your lines to figure out how to do this from last years videos. I did hard on day one. Day two I hit a buried boulder on the yellow route and I was out after an hour or so. Your channel is legit especially the Colorado trails, which I want to do this summer after Idaho.
I’m glad you like the videos! I like to think people can watch them and decide if they want to try the trail or not. Yea Colorado has some great trails. It’s my favorite place to ride by far.
Not yet but it’s still on my mind. Not sure how to find the owner if there is one. It is in a remote area. The nearest house seems abandoned. I might take a trip out there in the fall and knock on some doors. I can send you a pin drop of its location if you want to try and rescue it. You can see it on google earth.
I didn’t run new tires this year and almost paid the price. My front was falling apart at the end. I did run old mousse bibs so maybe that bead something to do with the tire falling apart. Too much sidewalk flex maybe.
I have long dreamed of doing this event, it looks like a lot of fun, and the right amount of difficulty and time. Been almost 5 years out of the desert though, so maybe next year I will go out a week or so early get myself acclimated and do this event, great video looking forward to more, and had to subscribe. "Also... these fucking guys." is basically my exact phrase for SxSs as well.
You know, I haven’t saved any of my tracks. I think if you are a decent rider you should just ride the event. It’s not super difficult, just long days on the bike. You won’t regret it, I promise! You will meet a lot of good people and make some awesome memories!
Love your videos. I'm in Alaska so riding season is a thing of the past for this year so this is a good way to pass the weeks and months until it's time to pull the XR650L out of hibernation.
Yup, that is the hard ways. I miss the silt beds and water crossings, but I think a lot of people complained about it being too hard. So, this is now what the hard ways is. Just a lot of sand washes.
