Amazing story behind how this song was written,,, I picked up Bob Crewe at his apartment and he directed me to drive to Jones Beach He felt the ocean would inspire him--- After we got there he said Nothing happening here Drive back to Manhattan Than he took us to a high risk under construction I took out my guitar case and we took and open elevator to the under construction 20th floor As I took out my guitar I said---It Took A Long Time To Find this Place Crewe said That's it And he began to write these lyrics I instantly put this melody to it.......
