Lawyers representing 37 alleged victims of the former Harrods owner branded the late billionaire "a monster".
Management at London’s prestigious Harrods department say they're 'utterly appalled' in response to allegations against the late owner, Mohamed Al-Fayed. According to a BBC documentary, over 20 female employees have come forward with claims of sexual assault, with some alleging rape.

This information must have been known when it happened. A foreign national who paid huge taxes, HMM ! He was refused a British passport for failing the "good character" check concluding he was "not a fit and proper person." The excuses were the "cash for questions" scandal, but with deep background checks like that, surely the powers that be must have known.

Know what I don't understand how can Harrods be held accountable if he was the owner of the company during this time? Surely if any of the female's making accusations would have to sue him personally or his estate? I watched the documentary & the alleged victims seemed convincing but it's difficult when a person has died & it's only then that this stuff comes out but it's all one way traffic!

i agree with the comments below . Why do they always wait until someone is dead before all these negative things come out. For example Jimmy Saville. It will be interesting to see how Prince Andrews goes. It's certainly taking a long time for that full story to come out. Or perhaps that he paid a small fortune to try to hush the matter up is why the whole story has not come out.
