I work at a marina and boat launch and we have signs all over, but nobody seems to read them. Glad to see it isn't just here that people have a problem reading signs.
Used to do this on Yankee beach 30 years ago. Pull the tourist from the jettys all the the way to blacktop. Only took money if offered. Never thought of this as some kind of business. Great idea, keep up the good work. Appear to be good people and great family.
some times yes, sometimes we sit there all day and do zero. It depends on conditions, the beach that we volunteer out is very easy to drive on with cars and always full of tourist. But its also managed so the management has asked up to provide help The entrance on this video is a different beach that's not really managed its an honor system pay when you enter system Is known for being super soft and we have pulled lots of 4x4s off this beach over the years, and is primarily locals that fix, with a few tourist The hugemought area quite often reaches capacity and stops letting people in 10-15 thousand depending on tide while the fishing spot has a 300 cap
I took my Wrangler out last year and found that even at 15 PSI i was slipping the tires! I went down to 12 and it was much better. Stock Sahara 18" wheels with MT
When I was in the Navy I used to pull people out for $20 that got stuck on Jacksonville Beach, the Jettys and the ponds up and down Mayport Road into the base. Easy way to make a few bucks off of people's idiocy.
That's funny because we been asked a million times over the years to come up and provide services during busy day (like during a special event) and holidays. We tried to do it for $20 pulls and 1 out of 20 people would pay that everyone else said no I'm not paying, or ill wait for someone else to pull us out. So for a long time we just refused to offer services for them because we could not work for free. Then Facebook blew up now we just video them make the money off the videos so now that allows us to be there to help at no charge its a win win for everyone
Even with AWD, if your vehicle has low profile tires, you haven’t the ability to air down properly if need be and you will get stuck, worse than a fwd or red, because you will have 2-4 tires that spin in the sand and get buried. Any wheels bigger than 18” have no business on the beach in soft sand, 15&16 are the best sizes, especially with tires over 28” tall or more.
Back again, Years ago I had managed a towing service out of Naples, Fla. doing everything from heavy recovery, to underwater recovery. After watching a few of your more high volume recovery days, much like this one, I keep wanting to ask you how on Earth do you manage to be compensated for your many many recoveries ? When I did recovery work, and they couldn't afford to pay, at least I had the option to impound and store until I was paid for my work ! You have got to have a way of being paid for your work consistently ! Maybe you have someone off camera doing your collection for services rendered ! Or at least I hope you do !
We do a lot of jobs that we get paid from, uhauls, fedex, Amazon, along with many other delivery services and more. We volunteer to help the beaches at no charge on holidays 1-to help keep beaches safe which means they will stay open 2-free advertisement, there is around 10-15 thousand people on the one beach on a holiday 3- good way to meet people which creates a great word of mouth which also brings in more work Short term = no money Long term = more money then todays losses can bring
hi matt, capt frank here. i was at hugenaut on labor day. i heard u were there earlier. why did that white tundra keep going out on amelia when he had only two wheel drive. his front tires didn't spin at all when u pulled him out.
He was 2wd for sure And wanted to try the beach He was able to drive up and down the beach fine And got stuck on the way out at the same spot so we ended up pulling him off the beach about 4 hours later
If I have to do a sunk vehicle like these, I will give a gentle tug with no power to lift them up out of the hole then do a second strong pull with power to move them. My vehicle is definitely not as capable as yours
Do you keep your tires at highway pressure when you're working on the beach? I don't recall seeing you mention messing around with tire pressure and wonder if you are simply usually able to get the job done without the hassle of airing down?
We normally don’t air down We have zero issues driving anywhere we need to with full psi Now sometimes we will air down if we plan on being in the soft sand for the day But this day we planned on staying at the other beach where it’s never an issue So we could not air down and drive the 47 miles back without the compressor which we did not bring Also kinda testing out the new set up to see how it handles dead pulls and if it can get back out in soft sand Hope that helps
That's what I figured. You were spinning a lot in this video, but you have to do a lot of highway driving, and it takes time to air down and back up, and time is money, so from a business perspective, don't air down unless you have to.
Airing down will help minimize tire spin pull a lot better and keep tranny temp down for happy long life , just air back up only takes a few mins w right air tank , C02 tank
That’s got to cost at least $75 per vehicle and I’m very happy for the tow folks and hopefully you make a killing and you’re doing it with a Jeep lol I to am a jeep owner and every winter in the Pacific Northwest cascades I’m pulling out vehicles that shouldn’t be out in our terrain now don’t be hating but most of my tows are Toyota and you guessed it Subaru road vehicles that shouldn’t be off the asphalt they are not setup for such conditions and the Toyota are usually big foot looking vehicles that you would think could go anywhere lol
why do they always turn their front wheels instead of just holding straight??? and all those trucks stuck in the entrance why don't you pull them back to parking lot instead of onto beach?
