A police helicopter response to someone using pepper spray on a cop? Absolutely ridiculous. Meanwhile, if you are the victim of a home invasion, they will literally wait in a parking lot, until 6+ cops arrive before heading to your home.
Funny you say that, we just had a Deputy from my Department conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle today and was pepper sprayed when he made contact with the driver. The driver ran off and fired shots at the deputy and the deputy returned fire. So for you to say that it’s ridiculous that a helicopter is on scene for this situation shows your competency in police work. You know nothing about police work.
I biked on a trail here in Pittsburgh Pa I haven't been on in 6 years. 24 homeless tents along the trail. 6 years ago there were no tents. It's like this in every town across America.
I'm curious how the guy who pepper sprayed the cop disappeared at the dog park, and then spotted back at the beach. I'm thinking he hid somewhere, maybe one of those tents was his.
Overweight LAPD cops jogging is sad to watch. Why are there no fitness requirements? Good health would seem like an essential part of doing a very stressful job…
Not just LA all over the US because of Greed housing is no longer affordable to everyone just the wealthy who own them! If you’re a working person you may be next in line for a tent that you can no longer put on public property!
Follow the lead of San Francisco! Union square is all cleaned up with no criminal homeless and city didn’t smell like urine! How come Santa Monica and Venice don’t want to make the same clean ups! Why? It’s disgusting
06:55 Years of recording police while n the course of their duties in public and yet this uniformed clown can't control himself and just has to oink out directives. This photojournalist clearly knows what he's doing and he's clearly not interfering or obstructing in any way.
That was some TJ Hooker shit right there 😂 that 3 mile foot pursuit I bet they were pissed running in the heat 20+ pounds of gear 😂 great job LAPD and Fabian!
Video is edited…they ran from the boardwalk to main, to clubhouse, to Pacific Ave, back to the boardwalk, and north to Park. A good mile run with 30lbs of gear…go try that for time smoker👍🏽😂
For the sake of efficiency .........Where the H_ll are the dog-teams! Law Enforcement looks WEAK & ineffectual!!!!! Far, FAR too many foot-police. autos & other resources when two dog-teams would have turned the trick.
Terrible police tactics for a petty crime. Extreme waste of police resources. Foot chases are just ridiculous as seen here. Commander in charge of this clown show needs reprimand and retaining how to conserve and preserve resources. Too many police watching and doing nothing efficient for the benefit of the beach crowds.
Pepper sprayed police, lots of officers help out during holidays (footbeats, bicycles, motors, crime suppression, mounted) so it’s not taking away from regular patrol numbers, suspect caught. Almost zero crime in 3 days in Venice because of all the extra police…please tell me how that equals to “extreme waste of police resources”?
I know police management. I have no issue with holiday extra LAPD presence to deal with the huge crowds. But never does a couple of platoons of officers need to run around and drive around the whole area searching for a petty crime perpetrator. Such over use of resources is not according to standard police practices. At the end of the video there are many officers standing around doing nothing. All these officers needed to be spread out up and down the entire long Venice beach engaged in crime prevention activities and responding to crimes along the whole beach stretch. According to public news reports, the perpetrator used pepper spray once caught and being subjected to arrest. No more details if that spray did any serious harm and we don’t know the original illegal activity the perpetrator did at the dog park. Being in police management, I would be compelled to do a retrospective review of the whole police chase to determine if my officers used good judgment and had good grounds to handle this incident they way it went down. Keep in mind the LAPD chopper was flying too overhead assisting with the police. That indicates more overkill and saturation on the ground during this police chase.
