Our beleaguered farmers pay almost no income taxation. Also, 70 percent of farmers are in the top 20 percent wealth bracket. Angus Taylor and Barnaby Joyce's parents, for example, could somehow scrape together the equivalent of $75,000 a year, post-taxation, to send their kids to the state's top boarding schools. Many others are in the same boat on the coalition side of parliament. How many people living in the country, particularly if they were employees in the agriculture industry, with its notoriously low wages, could afford to do this? Very few. I suggest anyone who doesn't like what they are doing, call it quits, and drive a taxi as I did when I was retrenched.
Bugger me the labor government & the Australian citizens almost have something in common they want farmers to flock off & majority of the Australian citizens want an election asap so they can flock off the labor government
Just a follow on to making a mockery of Defence. In times of war Defence and Defence support, reliable power and just as importantly, farmers to feed the people are our greatest needs. Labor needs to get rid of the Greens and reinstitute common sense and logic back into their reasoning!
keeton took to the farmers when him and hawk were in government by removing the primary producer exemption, and it has taken this long for it to be raised in parliament. All of you need to be holding your heads in shame for the inaction.
