Description :
=============
Every time I have to disassemble my 6128 to test a floppy drive, test a new device I made... etc, or even when I plug in all the external MP2-Fs and Goteks, I'm always afraid of burning out my 6128 which is my first machine and one of the only ones that I have managed to keep until now.
From time to time I take a look to see if I can find one, but the prices for a CPC-6128 are outrageous. I ended up finding this one reasonable and with an additional motherboard.
For many it would be too expensive given its condition, but I was hopeful of repairing it.
I have to say I didn't expect so much work to get it back up and running. Not the slightest burnt chip, but a motherboard ultimately very damaged. I had to redo around 30 tracks, it took me hours looking on the diagram which signal goes where. On each track, I checked several times that I was on the right pins.
In the end, I finally have a second CPC 6128. The bare motherboard will also be useful to me because it has a lot of supports.
If at least whoever put all the supports did not tear off the tracks at the same time, it will make a good test 6128. If too many tracks ripped out, I won't fix it.
Good viewing.
