Both parties fail to realise that unless you pay young people a fair wage, you are not going to get them to work in social care or in the agricultural sector. Pay people a fair wage 😡😡😡😡😡😡
you are much more lucky than the most counterparts in China now. most of us have been unemployed for quite long time, several month or a year..... and most even have highly monthly mortgage to repay!
"when the Tories moved to the right" Wow, the ignorance. We haven't had a remotely right wing Tory party since Blair got into power. Cameron turned it into a Blue Blairite party.
0.2% growth per quarter - that is what UK is going through even though 1.2 million came in past two years. Meanwhile Russia and India growing at 5% QoQ. Unbelievable.
Russia and India are much more resolute and diverse economies with huge natural resources, and the UK is a glorified Lithuania, especially after Brexit. Millions of Brits don't understand how poor we are economically on a global stage; migrants are brought in to work for cheap wages and make money for billionaires, then they siphon the money offshore, and the actual nominal value of the work is sucked out of the GDP. If we had a proper Labour party, unions and workers' rights, these sorts of mass exploitations would not happen. But this is not what Starmer offers, and it's not what the majority of the voting population wants. They don't understand the nuances of the economy - it's simply a case of "sToP tHe dInGys"
@@TC8787-yq7ogI think starmer is moderating his language and perception a bunch as to not get attacked by the right wing media in this country. Once he is in power - I hope that he swings his approach much more towards the left and is actually under promising during this GE campaign, but will actually over deliver when in power...I am fairly confident that this is the approach he is doing... But we will see...
As a weird left winger who does believe we really do need to address immigration levels but also detests Starmer...this is interesting. I suspect Labour will cop out do nothing and give ammo for Reform and let racists dominate the issue
In terms of Immigration Ya'll need to go to Basic Elements of Security and Risk....The 5 Ds of perimeter security (Deter, Detect (#fingerprintIdentificationonthespot), Deny, Delay, Defend)
All these Pledges and Promises from ALL parties , that NEVER get delivered and never will , they all just fill their own pockets and the pockets of their friends
Blair pledged to match %GDP spending for health with similar EU economies. He did this, the health service improved enormously and had its greatest ever public satisfaction levels when the Tories took over. Some pledges are met, even by @rseholes like Blair. I can't name one the Tories have met. But Blair did blow of load of cash on PFI, so I agree with you on the profit for friends point. At least we got actual hospitals, not imaginary hospitals.
I have no tribe .Labour say they will cut crime and make prison terms longer .Today we are told our prisons are full and our incompetent judicial system are told to reduce prison terms and our police told not to investigate certain crimes. Labour can't possibly reduce crime and employ longer prison terms unless they build more prisons which take time to build and very expensive to run. Where are the Labour costs for new prisons?? I assume therefore that Labour have no intention of building new prisons so the statements are nothing less than out and out lies .Of course ALL politicians tell the people lies in the form of rhetoric , platitudes, spin doctors and out and out lies. A little ironic as M.P.s are suspended if they call each other a liar in the House of Commons and the ultimate irony is calling themselves RIGHT HONOURABLE.
We don't need more training for young people, just better wages. If they can see there's a point in doing certain jobs they will go into those professions. We can't all be bankers or buy property portfolios with our inheritance. It's just incentive.
So you can replace the care Filipina Nurses and Caregivers have been peddling? Not a chance. The reason why developed countries cannot hire their own citizens is because their Citizens DEMAND triple to quadruple the pay AND BENEFITS from an employer than when an employer hires a worker from a third world country. That happens to be the selling point for us beggars to take your jobs. And in most cases, it's not just a demand. It is backed by LAW. And businessmen are CHEAP MISERS! The only way that will work is if your workers agree to take a quarter of the salary they deserve with no benefits. That's NEVER going to happen!
Not really. For example one common argument is that we need immigrants to fill NHS vacancies. I read that last year there was a net increase in migrants of around 750k and we have around 150k NHS vacancies...even on simple maths something's wrong plus we are not even targeting/filtering people for the NHS as we still have vacancies. I'm for reducing and having targeted immigration but it's not happening
A govt could not issue visas and actually be active in chasing up people that have overstayed their visas. I believe the last Labour govt was abysmal at the latter. We are an island nation...this shouldn't be hard to implement
The conservatives party just isn't the conservative party anymore, but Starmer has the values and attitudes of a proper conservative, it's showing more and more
There's a serious point from economic point of view why the world economies cannot function without immigration. White British population is on the decrease, a time bomb, when in a few years time without adequate work force, i.e. stagnant fiscal system, there will not be even enough pension for the retirees, compounded by allocation of money to other vital public services. In a nutshell, countries need work force to function; a stark reality that the likes of Tommy Robinson cannot fathom.
That's based on a few assumptions that populations need to grow and that immigrants are a net benefit when you can easily argue they are not due to the increase in labour pool suppressing wages and increased pressure on housing and services. Seems silly to insist on immigrants when we have at least 1.5 million unemployed and many more underemployed
If you want to know what's in store for you if you vote Labour just take a look at Wales. Labour have been in power for 25 years and just look at the state of the health service (even worse than England) and education. The war on the motorist and the money wasted over the last few years.
Haha can’t make this stuff up. Starmer was talking about getting rid of the House of Lords and using it as a stick to beat the a Tories with. Now dirty peerage deals to stop the criticism
If the Tories who know that migrants seldom vote Tory won’t/can’t cut immigration, what are the chances that Labour are going to cut Labour voting migrants? More empty promises.
I’ll believe it when I see it. Last time I checked, a good proportion of Labour MPs are quite content with open borders. That’s what we’re voting in with Starmer. Feels like it’s planned. See Klaus and his bug-eating friends! 🐛 🐜 🕷 🐞 🦗
@@UnequalSardineI am. And here’s what I have seen and don’t believe: I cannot believe western liberal democracies are importing en masse (Islam) an ideology that is diametrically opposed to liberal democracy. Islam is political. Too many people don’t seem to realise this. It wants the reins. Once it gets the reins you can say goodbye to ordinary freedoms you enjoy today, as you’ll be living by the word of Allah, as reported by an illiterate goatherd in Arabia. Be careful what you wish for.👍
I actually agree that putting more 'home grown' "talent" to work and reducing dependency on foreigners in the Work Force is a good thing. But it will take time, and economically speaking, that is not always on our side. That aught not dissuade a well qualified foreign national from working in UK, but open the door for well trained and freshly qualified UK citizens to work alongside them. Just so long as Labour does not fall into 'Patriotic' nonsense, and all the other right wing racial/ethnic tropes. Leave such things to the poisonous people backing Reform UK, and a befuddled "Conservative & Unionist" Party.
Any sort of training like engineering or medicine takes 4 years bare minimum to finish. That is just a british national with degree not work experience. IMO dependency should be reduced where possible but not completely cut down as that would mean we cannot get experienced talent.
I believe we should have targeted immigration for NHS workers and short term agricultural workers....I don't think we particularly need anyone else. All I see is obvious foreigners (that's going to come across as racist but I'm not) working as Deliveroo riders or taxi drivers...hardly essential
Yes get more Brit workers in full time employment, someone has to pay for the migrants 5 star hotels and ensure they are getting enough spending money.
We always think at election time that the country will be much better, after hearing all the wonderful and encouraging promises from the politicians. I have to say, they are pretty much as bad as each other. I know that's a cliche and generalised, but I do believe it. Whichever party gets in next, and I think it will be labour, don't expect anything wonderful to come of it in the end. It's all promises, promises to get votes.
My country is becoming the same country as seen in Children of Men. Everyone wants to stop the boats no one wants to tackle the cause which are governments
Ah that old chestnut, why do you think Johnson said that under parliamentary privilege? Do you think it might be because if he did it outside of that legal protection, he’d be sued for libel? Also, I guess because he knew certain people would believe it was true…
@@maneshipocrates2264 - They’re ALL as bad as one another .. NO current political party is fit to govern the UK & NONE of them have the British people as their priority
@@thegoat11111 - There were politicians from ALL parties who knew, & were told, about what sav was doing .. along with the BBC, police, social services & not one single person has ever been held to account for helping to cover up his crimes
Only thing that'll excite me is a Jeremy Corbyn-esque Labour Party. This Blairite Labour Party will do nothing but get the Tories back in to power within the next 10 years unfortunately. No real change, no real vision, no help to the working class.
How????Whats the Plan In terms of Immigration Ya'll need to go to Basic Elements of Security and Risk....The 5 Ds of perimeter security (Deter, Detect (#Identificationonthespot), Deny, Delay, Defend)
If we look Hollistic on immigration Labour records are better then The Little Engine Rishi sunak & The junk party (The Notorious Tories) 10 years of labour Vs The nastiness of Tories's 14 years of an Absolute chaos
The Tories promised to reduce immigration but let more than a million in labour will be just the same we need a radical new political party that will put the white British people first don't waste your vote on any mainstream parties vote for change
Yep, they promised that last time and the time before that and the time before that and the time before that and...............no tax rises yada yada..........protect pensions uhuh............... change change change change change...............
If you lower migration you lower economic growth and Government's revenue, which means more austerity and lower wages. I believe working class Brits should be just told the truth, do they want lower wages lower pensions and less NHS spending? That's the price for less immigration.
Labour campaigners trolling in the comments with the same "but the Tories" line. Noticed people ignoring them all over social media 😂 Grey Rocking them.
C4, you need someone who works on your social media to report the bots each time you upload something. Grow your audience. Otherwise, disable the comments section if ppl aren't gonna be able to really use it.
Here's how you cut net migration but keep the UK an attractive place for the best & brightest & keep it's reputation/build it up. You place a quota on the number of skilled work visas put out each year (i.e. 150k & when that number is met the route closes untill the next year) & other visa routes except for shortage occupations. You remove students from the immigration numbers since most leave & they are not immigrants & have a completely different category for students, you expand the youth mobility visa scheme so more Brits can have the opportunity to leave especially to other European countries. In regards to students you can make the UK the worlds university & attract more students. International students are a net gain for the UK & benefit not only universities but loads of towns & communities as well as grow UK's soft power. Expand post graduate work visa to 3 years & let students bring in just 1 dependent a year so you can have more control over the numbers.
That doesn't make the UK attractive for the kind of people the UK needs. The UK cannot expect to compete with the rest of the world when it offers so little in return for the average worker. E.g. Western Australia seems to offer a better deal for a doctor or nurse than anywhere in the UK. The UK is the country equivalent of a guy on a dating dating app with rotten & missing front teeth & a 3 bed terraced house...
150k? I am on a skilled worker visa and no more than 50-60k skilled worker visaes are granted each year. This is for non-medical professionals like IT, Engineering, Banking etc. Majority of worker visas are being churned through NHS which is health and care worker visas. This however is important for UK as the locals are leaving. Thanks to the peanuts salary.
