When you teach him sit, the "stay" is implied. Don't use both terms. Also teach him 1 word commands. Nice looking pup. I love my 8 yr old chocolate, a duck retrieving machine
We have a chocolate lab puppy and his name is Chocolate. Woody and Chocolate look the same and I love watching woody coz my Chocolate acts the same way ❤. Lots of love to Woody.
Crating your dog is a normal thing. As an American I thought it was cruel, but it actually becomes the dog's 'safe space' and its home. At night when I call my dog (or if I'm going out for any length of time) she comes bounding down the hall into the bedroom and happily gets in the crate. But when a dog is a pup and in training it keeps it in a limited space and not chewing up your house while you sleep. It also teaches it to hold its business to the morning so you can bring it outdoors to relieve itself and not leave a surprise to step in at that 3AM bathroom trip you might make.
No it’s not - our lab takes himself off to his crate when he needs some alone time - it’s his safe space/den. Dogs are denning animals. I was unsure at the start but he’s happy in there and safe
