They are very raw but combined with the scenes from HBO's series it's just like wow I mean that's scene of her standing by herself hugging her dead dad does not really theirs like my brain just like I don't know I couldn't put it into words I still can't there's a lot of emotion in the whole scene specifically the last part when you realize she's standing by herself so high this so close to death that she seen her father who is no longer in this world. I think I might have a way to explain it trauma and grief is a b**** and combined with drugs takes it to a whole other level
I cannot relate to the use of drugs like this song is representing but as someone who’s had severe depression/anxiety for the past 10 years: this song is so powerful and truly explains the exhaustion
I’ve been suffering from depression and anxiety for years now also overdosed a couple of times and I completely understand how you feel. This song really explains the way I feel on a daily basis.
The version with zendaya is ass. Nothing against either of them. This song is so beautiful the way it was. The ending with the organ in the background “one day you will see me, believe me” is SO genius, and it’s just not even in the new version. I’m so disappointed!!
Someone pointed this out after the release of "I'm tired" by Zendaya and labrinth but this version is more darker than the one Zendaya sings at the end of ep8 ,her's has somewhat of hope and shows that she is ready to change .Labrinth's one gives a feeling that he is done and is ready to go
It isn't really spiritual. The church and the song are used as a metaphor for death in the show. The more Rue does drugs and the closer she comes to an overdose the closer she comes to release. Unfortunately the release she is coming close to is also death. Everytime she comes close she finds herself in a church which is symbolic of her closeness to death/a supposed afterlife. It's not really meant to be a statement on whether there's anything spiritual or not.
@@jackcoleman1784 but what you said doesnt change the spiritual aspect of this scene. Church representing the place between life and death is not only symbolic but spiritual for religious people. It's sacred and i bet euphoria prod knows that. Even the director said he wanted to bring the "spirit world" in this season ". Also rue always asking for God not letting her die, her mom who's a christian, and Rue's line when she said that we can say whatever we want about christians but at least they forgive. each of this small referrences can makes us believe the church scene has a minimum of spirituality.
@@worthy8415 I'm going to be honest with you. I think you're reading into this to see what you want to see. I don't think the intent of the show is to support your particular religion.
@@jackcoleman1784 I'm going to be honest i think you refuse to see the spiritual aspect of the church scene. I'm not saying euphoria is a spiritual or religious show. But it's will be wrong to deny the minimum of spirit world they tried to portrayed here. And you just have to look in the comments to see I'm not the only one thinking that way. I'm not try to see at all cost what i wanna see. I speak based on euphoria'ss interviews and how people felt about this scene. Anyway have a good one
@@worthy8415 Yeah so what you just did is what's called a logical fallacy. It's a faulty method of thinking. The logical fallacy you committed is what's called argumentum ad populum go look it up. Just because a lot of people agree with you does not in any way validate your opinion. Have a nice day.
Not sure why the official release doesn't have the ending (which in my opinion is the best part of the song), it's also missing the adlibs at the end over the harmony
This scene and song had me in sheer tears 😭 i cried so much to this scene. I felt so much for Rue. To miss someone that you have lost and not know how to handle it. The fact that she feels so out of place in this world. Ugh my heart ached for her 😥
You can just feel how melancholic the lyrics are from the way the words are being sung…it brings up so much of our own emotions that we can relate to. Such a great piece of art. I recently covered this on my channel and it would mean the world if you guys checked it out!
I'm tired of crying and suffering and of always everyone disappointing me..... Me giving all my heart to people and they don't give a damm about me. I'm tired
This whole show and song is insane I felt like rue I tried to take whatever to get a sense of “high” or anything to make me sleep, my grandpa had cancer and died when I was a freshman in hs and I’m just glad I’m not like that anymore, I used to close my eyes and think about when I was at his house my “safe place”
man, idk how I feel about the show, I know a lot of people may not agree with me but I feel like this show is not to safe for “curios” people because then they try things that they really shouldn’t put of curiosity, it is a nice song but the meaning behind it makes it kind of sad. I’m not sure how I feel about the show yet, I may have to watch it myself but what I’ve been seeing because of the show concerns me.
you know, I can totally see what you mean. though the show shows sides of addiction and sexuality that proves to us that it isn’t worth getting into bad stuff like that, the way the show is purposely very aesthetic and the way they present the characters just somehow glamorizes addiction and bad habits. the way they tragically make beautiful scenes where rue overdoses and almost dies romanticizes substance abuse by painting it in such a pretty, symbolic way. i feel like young teenagers who watch this show gets an impression of high school that isn’t true, and try to strive to become those characters because they look and dress so pretty. i know if i watched that show at age 13 thinking high school was going to be like that, i would probably make not the best choices that reflect off the characters because they look so nice and appealing. all in all, as an young adult, it’s a good show in terms of cinematography and the acting skills of the characters. but in terms of impact the show will have on younger audiences, even if it isn’t geared towards them (we all know how easy it is to watch adult shows nowadays), i don’t know.
@@kitt4y i also agree but i dont think when rue overdoses the intent is to necessarily glamorize or romanticize drug use but it also shows a lot of what its like to be a drug addict, but i can agree that only mature people who understand drug use should watch this show because im in highschool right now and as a person who's been surrounded by people who did drugs that bad to the point where its self suicide its not something that should be covered up by dresses and make up its still a pretty good show and i reccomend it to anyone who has a stable mind.
@@blasian._.barbie definitely! and you do have a point as well. i can see how it wasn’t their intention to have it come off that way, but just to express through art the pain and horrible stuff that can happen when one gets into addiction. but like you said, it’s not something that should be covered up in glamour and makeup. great point :)
is anyone else unable to play this song on Spotify, because it is gray and i cant click on it? I`m from Germany so I don`t know if it`s just a Germany thing?
