When I was in grade school we took a field trip and saw the making of the movie and then the movie itself. I've been obsessed since then. I'm pretty sure this is the behind the scenes I saw 30+ years ago.
Watching David Bowie in this movie really makes me want to see how Lord of the Rings would have been like if they had chosen him to play Lord Elrond. He commands such a powerful, mysterious, mystical, ageless presence when he's playing King Jareth, especially when he is being domineering.
I know you posted this a long time ago but i was feeling the same way, something about this movie and like neverending story give off an indescribable vibe that i havent felt in any modern movie i can think of. its not nostalgia because these were before my time and i only watched them because my mom insisted. there is just something special about it
I think because at the time it was too hard to categorize; too dark for a children’s film but too fairytale-ish for an adult’s film. Time proved it wrong. Great movie.
Ha, never imagined it was bowie himself making that gurgle noise on dance magic. Terrible shame this movie didn't do better in theatres. If it had maybe Jim Henson would've worked on another film.
So amazing that this iconic film was filmed in my hometown but to see that clip of Jim Henson riding his bike around the Elstree studios that I always walked by. Amazing! 👏💗
I am 17 rn and saw this movie when i was 11 and its better then new movies. My kids are gonna know this movie and grandkids. I love it so much. Anyone else around my age or younger know it?
I"m fascinated by how much gates mcfadden from star trek the next generation shows up in this. She worked with a lot of the choreography of the puppets
I could watch this Behind the Scenes again and again ...oh wait, I did!!! I watch Labyrinth at least once a year and laugh each and every time. It's a classic! David Bowie, Jim Henson and the crew how can you go bad??
I had no idea she was only 14 in this. I mean, I haven't watched it since I was a child myself, but AS a child she struck me as one of the "big kids". Like, I would have imagined she'd be about to graduate or something, lol. She definitely was leagues above in acting skill, compared to most kids her age.
My goodness Jennifer Connelly was such a beautiful teenager at that time (she still is beautiful of course). If you look at David Bowie when he talks about her he did notice too. And very much so.
The first film I saw Jennifer in was Dark City, and I found her ridiculously beautiful. She has good taste, too. Most of the movies she is in are excellent.
I absolutely love Labyrinth for so many reasons, but Jareth and Sarah’s “love” story just captivated me, it really shows that sometimes no matter what you feel, you have to keep moving…I really wished Jennifer would’ve been a tad older so we could’ve gotten that kiss that was deleted…would’ve added more meaning to that fantasy dream
I have Theory event in the future Toby would look like the Goblin King you know kind of suggested by the lion he says when he's looking at Toby you have my eyes a lot of different things to like having blonde hair and like the same lip shape and all the other things
Is my dream seeing making.of every movie. For exemple.the labyrinth it makes me.cry for.the.excitment seeing the.making of the labyrinth so.awesome one and 2
say's Behind the scenes with Jennifer Conney... hmmm, I didn't know Jennifer had a beard while behind the scenes... Wait... she directed the movie!?!?! no way!
