There's such a sad love Deep in your eyes a kind of pale jewel Open and closed Within your eyes I'll place the sky Within your eyes There's such a fooled heart Beatin' so fast In search of new dreams A love that will last Within your heart I'll place the moon Within your heart As the pain sweeps through Makes no sense for you Every thrill is gone Wasn't too much fun at all But I'll be there for you-ou-ou As the world falls down Falling As the world falls down Falling Falling in love I'll paint you mornings of gold I'll spin you Valentine evenings though we're strangers 'til now We're choosing the path Between the stars I'll leave my love Between the stars As the pain sweeps through Makes no sense for you Every thrill is gone Wasn't too much fun at all But I'll be there for you-ou-ou As the world falls down Falling As the world falls down Falling Falling As the world falls down Falling Falling Falling Falling in love As the world falls down Falling Falling Falling Falling in love As the world falls down Makes no sense at all Makes no sense to fall Falling As the world falls down Falling Falling Falling in love As the world falls down Falling Falling Falling in love Falling in love Falling in love Falling in love Falling in love
I'll never forget the moment my English teacher premiered this film and The whole class was quiet. Wide eyed and all you could hear were the audible gasps. We shared the same emotions ; awe, confusion, awaking of our sexuality? It was an iconic moment
I usually watched films alone after reading the spoilers (don't ask). But this time I was watching this film in bed on TV, so I didn't know the plot. And when this scene with the peach and the ballroom came I was caught off guard so hard. I was watching in disbelief because I did not expect such greatness: the music, the frames, the atmosphere, and the dance. It was so magical. One of my best movie experiences ever.
By far,by far ! The best way to listen to "As The World Falls Down" is with "Hallucination" leading into it - there really is no way else to hear it,what a great 12" single this would've made. Easily one of the best ballads Bowie sang. After that horrible mistake with Mick Jagger that was "Dancin In The Streets" the year before,1986 certainly brought better things for Bowie musically with "Absolute Beginners" and "As The World Falls Down".
I've been saying the same thing ever since the first time I've ever watched the movie. I have the whole thing already imagined and planned out how I want it...I'm even going to do the whole masquerade ball theme for my reception
We, the children earlier, Who kept this movie in our hearts like a treausure, that it is, have now grown up. I wish i could go back in time and stay there forever- listening to this song. Going through goblin city
We cannot stop listening to the whole thing and especially this - I can only imagine how much fun her had creating this with every ounce of Bowie that he was.
A ICONIC DAVID BOWIE MOVIE SOUNDTRACK FROM LABYRINTH !!! - DAVID BOWIE PLAYED THE ICONIC GOBLIN KING PROUDLY, BUT DAVID BOWIE WAS FABULOUS AND FIERCE - JIM HENSON MADE THIS PROVOCATIVE MOVIE PROUDLY !!!!!! - THIS MOVIE IS TIMELESS OF PURE GLAMOUROUS AND ELEGANCE !!!! THIS FILM IS THE KID AT HEART - GREAT TO WATCH WITH THE FAMILY - A 1980 MOVIE FOR ALL AGES !!!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE FILM !!!! 💙💙💜💜💛💛❤❤💚💚🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You ask me when i was 6 what my favorite movie was I'd tell you it was Labyrinth... You ask me at 43 what my favorite movie of all time is, an i will tell you Labyrinth... (NOT to be confused w PANS LABYRINTH it is NOT the same thing!) Forever & always a lifetime favorite of (Jim Henson's) LABYRINTH!!! Grandma's Boy is my #1 for comedy movies but only ranks #2 on my all time favorites😂 My comfort movies indeed!!!
I love this film, the feel of the atmosphere, the brilliant fantasy landscapes, out the year I was born too, il always remember where and when I first saw it, x
I discovered As the World Falls Down in this Facebook bracket with a bunch of songs from Disney and other movies that have fandoms, including Labyrinth. This was going up against I See the Light, which I don't like much but a lot of people do. The first few seconds I immediately knew this was going to win in my mind and I listened to it like crazy over the next few days.
Thank you for posting this! I have always loved the movie score that comes before Bowie starts singing, but never found the two songs together without the full sound/clip from the movie. This is fantastic!
I was four years old when I was graced with the most beautiful music my little ears had ever heard and a scene that brought me to tears as I sat three inches in front of my TV screen at 2 a.m. . I never wanted that feeling or moment to end, so I replayed the movie over and over again. I wanted my wedding to look like that. A wedding I knew that would never happen, so I kept replaying the movie so I could live in that moment over and over again. An ethereal feeling I can't even explain came over me, my child eyes going wide. Its still the same way even now that I'm 22 years older.
Best childhood memory ever. I had to watch it over and over. Like a drug omg I was 5 the first time I saw it and everyone who has ever known me, knows I love labyrinth
Labyrinth was my absolute favourite movie as a child. I wanted to be Sarah so badly and have the adventure she had and dance with David Bowie 🥰. Jim Henson & his puppets really were iconic, even now 35 plus years later. I can't help it but David Bowie as Jared the Goblin King so hot 😋.
I wish the remix would repeat the line 'it makes no sense at all' it's haunting. I used to lift up the record needle to make it play twice. Haha, shows how old it is.
What everyone else thinks of when they hear this: Jareth and Sarah's dance. (Fair enough it was pretty cool) What I think of when I hear this: LOVE ❤️ 💫❤💖
@@Tha_Greatest3882 Up to where the CGI owl becomes the real owl in the movie the credits in the movie are completely different to what's on the soundtrack. I'd like the movie version spliced with the soundtrack version, I tried to do it but it comes out all wrong, I also tried to this one, as the world falls down, and I couldn't do it. This is perfect btw.
It’s a mix from both of the songs but it’s far less perfect without the soundtrack pieces for example In the ending it’s supposed to go eerie but those score pieces where sadly never released
@@Tha_Greatest3882 Wait...how did you get this version? When you say soundtrack...I get that they are mixed...did you mix them or someone a fan or something? I'm not sure what you are saying. Sorry.
