Alma is located on the southeast coast of Lac Saint-Jean where it flows into the Saguenay River, in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada, approximately 75 km north of Quebec City. In 2002, Alma merged with the Municipality of Delisle. Both modern day Alma and St-Joseph d'Alma are named after the Battle of the Alma.
The friendly town of Alma is known for its fine sand beaches, excellent cycling facilities and busy calendar of events, activities and shows. It’s also the starting point for the fabled Véloroute des Bleuets bike path, where outdoor enthusiasts can pedal off on an exciting voyage of discovery amidst the region’s valleys and rivers.
