Can't say enough about lacey, she's my favorite singer, and her story was so inspirational that it ,along with a few other things helpp me end my 35 year battle with depression which started along age 7, everytime she sings a song like this it always makes me cry, thinking of her story along with my past... God is good. Thank you lacey
Amen god loves you bro, even when you feel like your prayers are going nowhere they are heard bro, just try hard to keep the commandments my dude tats what made Jesus the best and he came to accomplish the law and forgiveness
I needed this, and I'm crying like a pair of waterfalls leaking out of my eyes. My wife needs to hear this. despite everything that went sideways, despite all the years of pain, hurt, mistrust, and eventual complacency, I still love her, and want to make it right. My love, please listen to the whole thing. this parable never meant anything to me until now. No, our marriage isn't perfect, but we can't make perfect if we don't have one. come home to me, my arms are open, but I won't kill the fatted calf because we live in an apartment. and the song, this says everything. It is what we are living through right now. "something made you restless years ago til you forgot that I'm part of your soul."
I love lacey ❤ her voice just sues my soul. There's people who sing and then theres people who inspire!!! All of her music is so heart felt even way back with Flyleaf!! This song to me can have many meanings and to me it hits home thinking of all the people who were more worried about going out and partying than building a life. Thank you Lacey your words inspire me to be strong 💪
I've been fighting for my life I have finally allowed my higher power's love to surround me. last December I came down endocarditis, and I heard him thru different vessels. your voice sounds like an angel. it took my 32 years to find God n myself I am getting more surgeries I was blessed w recover I will b home for Christmas I bought your book AMAZING YOU GIVE ME HOPE NO DRUGS OR SIN COULD FILL MY HOLE... ITS A GOD SIZED WHOLE.
Psalm 124 if it not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say; If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose against us . Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul; then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the hunters: the snare is broken and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
I heard you for the first time in 2009 and it's amazing what God have done with you and with me, I was lost and now i'm found, your music and passion poured out in a single song makes me to believe that God's plans will not fail. Blessings from Puerto Rico.
all her songs speak to me, God is working through her cause it's always something i need to hear, like the song the forgiven, all of them have just the right amount of the Holy Spirit in them, i love her so much
I belong to the church of bended knee, and wanted to say thanks to both Lacey and Josh for sharing their talent in praise and helping me have music in my prayers. Makes my church complete Also thx for the post
+Jason Stowe Yet the Bible says this: 1 Timothy 2:12 King James Version (KJV) 12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." Meaning that God is a HUGE sexist and that Lacey is sinning by doing shows like this, according to the very same Bible she's promoting. And that's just one of the many, many, many, MANY terrible verses in the Bible. I don't know how anyone could consider this book to be "the way".
+Melanie Black Ephesians 5:25-33New King James Version (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body,[a] of His flesh and of His bones. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”[b] 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. ***Melanie, you make the claim that God is sexist by cherry picking one verse of the bible. God made man and woman with unique differences but expects wives to honor their husbands AND for husbands to honor their wives. I would encourage you to look at scripture in its full context before making quick judgments. Jesus loved us before we loved him and I don't know your story but I can only say that Jesus saved me from depression, addiction, and death. He is the Messiah, Savior of the world and the only way, truth and light to God. I would highly recommend Lacey's book about her own testimony of Jesus saving her life.
+Melanie Black Melanie, I pray you will one day allow your heart to be accepting to God's call, but I understand that will have to be done by you and you alone. When it comes to your quoting of 1 Timothy 2:12, reading the verse literally, without the context of the surrounding verses or commentary, will give you the false impression that you came up with. I am hoping that this commentary, on 1 Timothy 2: 8-15 (the whole passage), will help you understand what Paul, the author of the books of Timothy as well as many others, was conveying. The last thing God is, is sexist. Lacey is far from sinning in this video, as well as her life in general as an artist, as she is praising and worshiping her Lord and Savior. 2: 9-10 - "In the wealthy city of Ephesus, Gentile women competed for attention with elaborate hairstyles, extravagant jewelry, and costly clothing - practices that were probably conrouaged by the false teaching there. Paul had dealt with a similar issue in Corinth (1 Corinthians 11). Paul's instruction to women should not be read overly literally, as a prohibition of jewelry or nice clothing today. It simply means that modesty, godliness, and good works are the proper attire for worship, and for life (1 Peter 3: 3-4). 2: 11-12 - "In Paul's day Jewish women were not allowed to study the Scriptures or to worship with men. But the false teachers in Ephesus seem to have encouraged women to flaunt their freedom and act disruptively. Christian worship was expected to avoid both extremes, permitting women to worship, pray, and learn together with men. Still, Paul affirms that worship must be done "Decently and in order" (1 Corinthians 14:40), with women being taught by the men when the entire church gathers together. 2: 12-14 - "Adam sinned with the full knowledge of what he was doing (Romans 5:12), thus abdicating his role as a leader. So even though Eve was decdeived and was the first to eat the forbidden fruit, the ultimate responsibility for sin fell to Adam because he willingly chose to disobey God. The order of creation (Gen 1-2) is likewise violated when women act disruptively or assume authority over men in the church." 2: 13,14 - "That Adam was formed first and not deceived affirms only that the man has God-given headship; it is not a statement of his superiority."
I'm agnostic. I saw her back in 2002 I believe at ozzfest when she was with flyleaf. She was going to make an attempt on her life. Her grandma saw the sadness in her eyes that day and took her to church. I love the fact that she is happy now because of God.
This is absolutely beautiful. There's nothing like hearing these two perform. I always...ALWAYS get chills. Thank you for capturing this new song Ashley.
So beautiful and inspiring. I can feel the warm of her songs and lyrics. Comparing to many meaningless songs and singers, her voice and lyrics is helping me not to forget about the most important things in my life...
I don't know if this is answered in the comments, but Lacey is reading the Parable of the Lost Son, more commonly known as the Return of the Prodigal Son. Luke 15: 11-32 Here is a link to the passage: www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+15%3A11-32&version=NLT
love seeing people give their life over to Jesus. I've heard Lacey from her former band like most people. Great voice, always have loved listening to it. Glad she realized God had plans for her. I heard her story. God truly does love each and everyone one of us. And HE has a plan for all of us. Jeremiah 29:11.
That church looks REALLY familiar. I'm glad you got a chance to meet her! It'd be awesome to hear her sing and get a chance to talk with her. Hopefully one day I'll meet Lacey. I can definitely relate my life to her in every aspect. I just always feel depressed at times and it is difficult to battle with.. :(
Wow this is so amazing n beautiful touched my heart thank you Ashley for uploading this and very jelly you got to meet her again lol can't wait for her new music so excited for it :D
***** I am not sure I know she's working on trying to get a label set up but I know she's been slowly writing new songs n stuff. I'm really excited too and hopefully it won't be too much longer ha ha
I liked her vocals better in the two songs she did with Third Day in their album Revelation. (Revelations?) One of which I believe had the same title as this one. She had an interesting mix in her voice of delicate and powerful at the same time. No knock against this, but that was even better.
You may already know this, but she used to be the lead vocalist of flyleaf, and she recently made a song with her husband called Faith, and there's more, there's The Forgiven, I shall believe, Mystery, Heavy Prey, and Live Forever.
