@Becs M the story is based off of one of Jesus’s parables in the Bible (Luke 15:11-32) about the Prodigal son. It’s told from Gods perspective as a loving father who’s son has turned against him and run from home with all of his inheritance and spends it all on selfish pleasures. It’s a story about Gods heart toward His people when they turn from Him and leave Him for their sin. God will not force us to stay in a relationship with Him but He will be ready to run back to us and forgive us when we call on His name and abandon our sin for the sake of trusting in His love again.

I turned from God along time ago, but here I am, listening at 3:00 in the morning on repeat....crying, contemplating life, reminiscing about the past and lost loved ones. Lacey... Thank you... I needed this. This is the first time in along time I turn from atheism. I miss God... Come back to me!

It's 5 am and after having this album pop up in recommended countless time, I've finally listened. Every song is amazing, I expected to cry. But I didn't. Not until this song. The past year, I've been dealing with depression and anxiety, had breakdown after breakdown. I realize now seeing this was God calling me back to Him. That I found peace with a prayer journal for a reason. That the moment I heard "something made you restless years ago, you forgot I'm part of your soul"...there was a reason I started crying. This song touched my soul. This isn't the first time one of your songs has helped me, Lacey. You are truly an angel, and I hope to meet you one day. I love flyleaf and Lacey's voice! This song is so powerful! I lost my fiancee soon after we had our son. I recently got back to finding my faith in God again. This song is such a great reminder of God's love for us.
Lacey is one of the greatest singers in hard rock in the last 20 years for me,I love all the Flyleaf albums with her and this song is so beautiful shows how powerful and soulful her voice is with that cry touches you deeply! why was this not a big rock radio hit record companies or producers screw up picking singles a lot of the time.

Oh my gosh. I am so out of the loop and just discovered this album tonight while googling to see if anything new had happened with Lacey. I've missed her voice since she left Flyleaf... This is so excellent, and it feels so great to have something new. I love it!
i'm surprsied this album only sold 9,000 copies. It's absolutely beautiful and reminds me of the 2008-9 acoustic emo rock scene I just love it so much! I think Lacey did an amazing job with this album. Maybe some other people have grown out this type of music but it always hits home for me and I think she deserves all the credit in the world.

As much as this fills up my heart with mixed and aching emotions that I’d never experienced before, this song reminds me of my dearest best friend since we’ve met during freshman year in high school… She means a lot to me, and I would want nothing more but to be by her side until we’ve reached adulthood. I used to listen to this song a loooot when it came out and it made me cry my heart out back in 2016 when I brokeup with my ex, and now, after 2 years, just listened to it again (I swear I had totally forgot about this song till today) and all the sorrow took my body again, even that I'm really over that relationship now. Exactly describes my relationship with god. He was the only good in my life in my traumatic childhood. My family wasnt religious at all but through all my abuse and trauma I always talked to him in my head. He always told me it's ok and this will stop one day and I'm going to be happy. Then through drug addiction and mental health issues I've lost my way with him. But I've never felt abandoned by him. Whenever I think of him my heart feels 100 times lighter and I know he's the only thing to love me untill it stops hurting and I love myself.. I'm 34 now and I'm really struggling. I dont ask him for favors, or please god this one more time, cause it's always a lesson that I need to experience and not avoid. I pray for my kids and people's well being. Not for genie wishes. Lifes about work and strength, that's something I need to know. I also need to learn that he is good enough and so am I. I wrote this listening to this song, so this is how this song helps. Lacey's music is so beautiful even in fly leaf but this album is more intimate I think. And her lyrics, melodies and message have helped me so much through my life, and has helped me with my relationship with him anytime I listen to her. When I hear her it's like she truly is his vessel for me to hear him. I guess as a kid, music was always my escape and a place always, that I can feel comfortable with my emotions. She reinforces my intimacy with god even if it's just through her music, I'm so grateful I get to listen to her. She probably gets the same things told to her all the time by fans but if I ever had the chance to tell her that's shes literally saved my life when I'm at the lowest low and suicide is all i can think of, i truly cannot think about that when I'm listening too her. I would want her too know that she and her band (old/new) is a blessing to us. Their talents do so much more than entertain people. I was injured in 08 when I was in the United States Marines and when I need my ex-wife the most she ran away with my son in her hands it took me almost 8 years to. have my son in my life. Lacey, I listen to this song and everytime it breaks me into a million little pieces. But it also brings a part of me, to life. I can't explain it. But I think it's good, I think we have to hurt a little... break a little, to be made and built up stronger.
