Nobody will never ever match his talent and technique of playing, his magic touch, because tabla playing was his life's tapasyia, his daily worship. His way of living, of thinking and of playing were different, that's why I fell in love with him, still love him and will love him forever. The biggest loss of my life... May my beloved husband rest in peace and be remembered always...
I see here The Great Lacchu maharaj ji worshipping the art of Tabla ... just loved the way he enjoyed all the bandishes ... he loved playing each and every alphabet with ultimate joy ... this should be the goal ... RIP legend
this video is so amazing. i remeber seeing it years ago when youtube first began. The beginning part with the music in the background, and him hitting the chillum is so relaxing. Wonderful ambience, the birds chirping, some people chattering, some bells and incense, feels like I'm there.
He was not a tabla vaadak but a great Sidh Farishta. He was least concerned with but others think about him. His tabla is divine tabla. He played for his "स्वांतः सुखाय " . आदेश आदेश ।
The important thing is, what he's played, It makes no sense to comment on smoke...Pandit Lachhu Maharaj Ji is presenting difficult composition with amazing gesture in tabla playing...!
He is the best tabla player of modern India. He was too honest and never sucked-up to powerful people, so he missed the fame and recognition others like Allah Rakha got.
I still get goosebums hearing him play. An old friend of mine introcuced me to Lachu's music more than 10 years ago. I even had to try and smoke the shillum a few times. May his soul rest in peace!
*Lacchu Maharaj is one of the prominent one among all.A few people know that Pandit Ji was offerd his tabla beats for timeless and Epic Hindi Movive PAKIZAAH*
Thanks Google for making me acquainted with such a great person. This is really special and loved it very much. Maharaj wherever you are, stay happy and may god give you peace to your soul!
Thanks to the prompt from Google Doodle celebrating the 74th Birth Day of this Tabla Maestro i have listened to his rendition. Simply beautiful. God Bless him. Thanks please
We are missing you! Kaash aap hum logo k Beech may hote nana G Toh sayd hum ko bhee aap Say kuch hua sekhne ko melta! Na toh ab aap hai aor na he nane g!
Amazing tabla by granfather missing you I haven't words for you tilent ! You are immortal for every music music🎤🎼🎹🎶🎧🎶🎧🎶 lover 😍😍 thanks🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇🙏🙇 naman Naman!
Great musician ! This is a cut from from "Bénarès, musique du Gange = Banaras, music of the Ganges" (by director Yves Billon, coproduction La Sept: Les Films du Village, 1989)(also featuring Bismillah Khan, Girja Devi, N. Rajam)
SMOKING IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH, ofcourse.. Late Lachchu Maharaj's 'tabla-vadan' remarkably draws attention of parents to guide their children to learn music. Music is prayer. May God rest his soul peace.
Who cares about smoking we're here for the god like tabla. And he's not smoking tobacco it's ganja(marijuana),so it's not that harmful Atleast not as. Harmful as tobacco.
Believe it or not, he is the maternal uncle of actor Govinda (his mother's brother) and the half-brother of Kumkum the actress (who hides the fact that her real father was Vasudev Maharaj and she was Nirmala Devi's half sister, daughter of Munnan Apa).
He thinks he's better than he actually is.... and that's what makes his 'vibe' so cool! (e.g. 3:41... like he just played the awesomest beat in the world). To me, this type of tabla playing is very entertaining. Reminds me of when I used to sit next to Maharudra Dhumal playing pakhawaj in Ganeshpuri. I would loved to have seen Lachu Maharaj in person.
@@wisedesi442 He is one of the greatest! BUT, he thinks he is better than he is (greater than the greatest), which makes him BOTH great AND entertaining.
It is Soma. Those who devote their life to meditation - choose their own soma preparation. For some it’s weed, some it’s ephedra, for some it’s toddy. Do not judge because this is Bhakti at its finest. Ganjika is Prasada of Shiva, the adiyogi himself.
Great musician indeed...I knew him back in mid-'90s in Europe, saw some astounding concerts and celebrated some very intense "Kali puja" (chillum smoking) with him....
Is there any senior disciple of Pt. Lacchu Maharaj ji? Someone who was fortunate to learn his vast collection of bandishes? I feel many of rare Benares bandishes vanished after his passing.
Would you imagine this...living at the same time and being neighbour of Bismillah Khan and Girija Devi...I don't know they ever met...Yet, Varanasi (Banares) is one of the richest ancient city in India, in terms of musical, cultural and most tolerant possible cohabitation between Hindus, Muslims, Budddhist and Jaina followers.
