Very nice watch and video. I saw it on Kevin's video and was intrigued. Was able to get one from a friend shortly after and really enjoyed the movement and small seconds was cool.

I agree about the strap, I don't like the color. When I get one I'm replacing the OEM strap with NATO and crocodile straps in several colors (brown, grey, and blue, particularly).

Congrats, a robust , simple to read watch for most situations. I own a 55mm B-Uhr fm Laco 1942, which runs today n I wear it on weekends. At +3s/d one can imagine the quality, even at this age... Cheers fm Singapore+

I’m here because I’m considering picking one up. Just beautiful. Also, if you rotate what watch you’re wearing, you end up winding your autos anyway so manual is, if anything, nice to look at than a big ol rotor.

How has this watch aged for you over the past 1.5 years? Are you wearing it regularly? Have you found the 42.5mm diameter an issue? I'm about to buy my first high-quality non-quartz watch and I'm thinking of the Cuxhaven, but the size gives me pause. My wrist circumference, by the way, is between 6-3/4" and 7" even.

to wind this movement you have to do it forward/backward until feel resistance, if you only do it forward you will broke the movement

Weiss and Steinhart also have good watches that feature this 6497/6498 Unitas movement. The Chinese clone of the movement is also good. You can find these in pilot watches under the Parnis and Corgeut brand for under $100.
