They have gone down the heavy/goth road now. Their guitarist is new to you if you haven't heard them prior to 2016, in fact, most of the parts on their 2016 album aren't even him playing because they didn't have a full-time guitarist since both of their previous ones retired or moved on. His name is Diego Cavallotti and he's definitely more skilled for this genre of music than Maus was. Their drummer here is Ryan Folden and he's entirely different than their drummer previous to 2014. Uses double bass a lot more, doesn't have a ride cymbal, uses lots of specialty cymbals and just a much better playing style for this genre. The cymbals you referred to are perforated cymbals, he uses Sabian AAX Holy Chinas (one regular and one mini) an O-Zone splash and an Aero splash. His crash cymbals are HHX Evolutions, his hats are AAX Freq, and he uses a custom Wuhan handbell that is hand drilled to mount to use as a bell effect cymbal. I know all of his gear mainly due to the fact that he's my favorite drummer on the planet, but he unfortunately retired to be with his wife full-time because she mattered to him more than the band did so I can't blame him. Their drummer now is Richard Meiz. He is very complex and fast and uses double bass an awful lot. Very skilled. You'll hear him on their new album, Black Anima. Anyway, yeah, band is wayyyy different but kept some of their original sound as well.
