The heat action at 0:44, the sound effects and impact seems very very downgraded compared to 0's, but I'm glad it returned.

Well, you're not kidding. The final boss of Gaiden is bloody amazing (basically Aizawa but better). The combat is overall very mixed for me though, there are some questionable decisions but overall I still enjoyed it (nothing mods can't fix). I guess that's what happens when you develop the game in just six months.

@@Badshah044 I'll just list the positives and negatives of the game. Positives: - Agent's gadgets are really good and fun to use, especially against crowds. Some people say Hornet is bad, but I disagree. It's situational, but you can use it to run away from enemies/bosses and cheese the hell out of them. Especially in EX Heat, with the drones being more aggressive. - Agent's EX Heat counters is a free damage source, you don't need any special timing to do it. Also sets up juggling. - Juggling is in the game, and due to the damage scaling (which is comparable to K2), they do insane damage. I didn't even upgrade my attack power, yet I was still doing almost an entire HP of damage just from the juggling. The six second juggle limit is due to the damage scaling, compared to LJ where there is damage decay (your juggles doing less damage over time). So I don't think the six second limit is that bad. - While it's a bummer that Komaki Parry is not in the game, Komaki Knockback gets a buff where you can stun bosses with it. Unlike the older games where it's more of a "get off me" move. - In comparison to most Yakuza games, enemies are quite aggressive in this game, which is refreshing. For some people, it means no damaging it will be more annoying but I don't really mind. Kind of wished LJ's enemies are this aggressive, since they just take turns attacking you. - Shishido is just a phenomenal boss and character, nothing else needs to be said. - While other games have alternate costumes you can use, they've always been relegated to Premium Adventure. Now with the Boutique, you can buy so many costumes and the customizability is really good. You can wear the goofiest costume imaginable and make it appear in cutscenes. Kind of wish the suit's dress shirts aren't just white though. - The Castle is a fantastic area. Visually distinctive and striking, there are many interesting activities you can do there as well. The Coliseum is easily the best in the series, being able to play as other fighters that you recruit is a nice touch (even if they are limited in some ways). Negatives: - Yakuza style is pathetically slow. Enemies are more aggressive than they've ever been, yet they think it's a good idea to make it this slow. Even K2 is faster. This makes it really bad in group fights, compared to Agent where you'll just destroy them with the gadgets. Triple finishers are also unsafe. - On that note, finishing holds being relegated to EX Heat is also really stupid. It's not like they're even broken compared to gadgets, they even removed one of the finishing holds. - While Agent's gadgets are nice, most of the finishers are rather unsafe to use and have long recovery. The dodge is also absolutely garbage, despite the fact that it's designed to be a mobile style. I guess they limit the dodge because of Serpent, but I'd rather that not be the case. Also, in EX Heat, the EX Heat combo of Agent is s instead of t, which means that they replaced the normal rush combos. A bit annoying. - Building up heat takes literally forever. It's especially bad in early game, where you only have one or two bars. Using a heat action without Indra's Amulet drains the entire bar, and good luck trying to build it up again. Really strange that if you dash into objects and furniture using Serpent, you'll get way more heat compared to just hitting enemies. - Gun enemies, there are way too many of them. Not much of an issue late game where you have more than enough tools to deal with them. Not so much early game, where they throw these fellas at you (even making some of them bosses). Just garbage. - Majima, Saejima and Daigo's moveset are limited and not complete (if you buy the DLC). Yet when you fight them, they have their complete moveset. Thank god for mods (yet again). - No NG+ is idiotic. Just because the game is shorter, that doesn't excuse it. Nothing mods can't fix, but that's no excuse either. Anyway, still had a lot of fun playing this game. I'll be playing it again for sure, just with mods. Being made in just six months means it's less polished, which is regrettable.

@@fattahyahya2106 Good write-up i largely agree with you on most of these points: A few things 1) Yakuza style: I think the speed itself isnt that bad imo - it's there to balance out the immense strength of the style especially the fact that your charged finishers are all armored and fully capable of launches and juggles. I do think a tiny speed boost could've been fine but anything too fast would enable it to essentially break the balance, letting you essentially run into groups and smash them. For what its worth, i really enjoyed using it in groups but had to be careful with finishers and charged hits. 2) Gun enemies: i somewhat liked them outside of bosses but yes they were definitely infurating. 3) Dodge: Dont think i had any issues with dodging either to be honest - i think once you get triple quickstep with agent , kiryu becomes quite evasive and fluid. 4) DLC characters were indeed a big disappointment due to their half cooked moveset. No NG+ is also lame. Either way, I think we are both in agreement that Gaiden could've been sharper and more polished with more well-rounded mechanics but for 6 month game, its excellent. With mods, i think its definitely up there as one of my favs.

@@Badshah044 >Yakuza would be too broken otherwise I guess we can agree to disagree. I don't think giving it K2 combo speed would break it, rather it would be more balanced. Regarding group fights, it is absolutely usable in normal street encounters. (though a tad tricky). In most of the story encounters where there are more enemies (especially ones with guns and other weapons) though, it is hardly feasible. If they want to keep the same speed, make the finishers have more hyperarmor. At the very least, EX Heat should definitely give you a speed boost. Oh, and have you fought the three gangs in Sotenbori? Yakuza is even less usable there, especially with how many HP those goons have. >Gunbros Yeah, I was mostly referring to Yoshimura. He's the typical annoying and garbage gun DE boss. You can't combo him since he has hyperarmor and he'll retaliate, fighting him in early game without gear that allows you to block bullets is a pain in the ass. I cheesed the hell out of him by replenishing my heat bar with items, and then spamming heat actions. He doesn't deserve any respect. The only other bad boss are the two tigers in the Coliseum. >Agent dodge My bad, I was thinking of early game Agent before you get the triple dodge upgrade. Got to say, Chapter 1 is rough on Professional. >Could've been better but overall it's good Agreed. People are really exaggerating the game's flaws. It's not garbage just because it's not LJ 2.0 and you can't infinitely juggle enemies and bosses. Definitely flawed in some aspects, but overall it's still solid. Not sure if I prefer this over Judgement though.

@@fattahyahya2106the 6 second juggle limit is fine since JE, u couldn’t juggle bosses for shi, it’s the 4 seconds of superarmor after they fall down that’s incredibly infuriating to me personally. Just punishes the player for even attempting to be creative.
