I may have watched your entire video except for the fact the Wind and the bad video ended that. I wish people would edit their videos after taking the time to make them!
The rung the pulley is attached to at the top will bend easily... it's not strong enough for a heavy load, probably weakened by the hole drilled in it too. It's best to put a square steel bar on the top of the ladder. See my assembly video. I've bent the rung and can tell you that it will warp the ladder or break and the load will fall.
Al, when you were threading the shuttle on to the ladder, your camera is too fuzzy to see the detail of what you have to reduce the friction. Do you have nylon/teflon buttons on the bottom side of the shuttle to ride/slide on the ladder frame? Neat design.
That top rung you have the pully on will not be strong enough..... i tried that with a way heavier ladder and it bent and broke off. I do like the way you mounted the winch tho
