Got out in 94 and the advice I was given all the way back then was call the blue book religiously day in and day out !! Incidentally I believe you can now go down old Jewry from Gresham street with R into cheapside

Some really interesting points about knowing about doing the k or being a cab driver. I only really found out about it through my dad who did the knowledge and he was the one to encourage me to get on the k.

The biggest advertisement for recruiting future taxi drivers has always been the handed down information from family and friends. Hardly anyone comes to this trade via other sources

The secret of the runs is repetition, just remember when you were a child you learnt nursery rhymes. Its the same principle. Good luck to you.

Great video Dean, been looking forward to a new one! I'm on book 3, got my self assessment coming up in a couple of weeks. When it comes to the real written exam, would you recommend learning any points for that or just winging it?

Hi mate I did mine not so long ago literally learnt just runs and no points and scored 78 percent on the points. You’ll be surprised what you pick up subconsciously 👊🏻

This is something so many people don't realise. The test has been passed by lots of people who learnt no points. The first appearance requires around 1500 to have a good chance

You can pass the real test with no points but i would only suggest that if the deadline of time was a factor. Learn as many as you can before the test and try to have above 1500 for the first appearance. You need 3000 for the second or third appearance.

Thanks so much for the answers. I think the 1st appearance is usually about 4 weeks after the written test? I. That case I'll make sure I'm giving myself enough time to hit 1500 for the first appearance. Thank you!

It seems to be the case, and the old adage is if there is work on the apps there is work n the streets. But i do feel we can still get a few extra quid using the apps to our advantage.
