I worked on that show as a lighting technician and remote follow spot operator. Including rehearsals I saw this performance about twelve times. Hearing it gave me goosebumps every time.
Jesus! I'm so jealous of that. Hearing her live even once in my life would be a heart stopping experience! She is incredible and this song sang by her is just mindblowing!
Why Glennis Grace is not a world mega start baffles me. The woman can sing. To do a Whitney song just as if it was Whitney stood singing it. Lady Gaga has 400+ million views yet Glennis has 1m it hard to believe. I think she gives more emotion, power just an overall better performance. And a joy to the eyes...
Hi there! Completely in the same wavelength with you. I'm not Lady Gaga fan either but this version and her voice makes this song absolutely super! It's so sad and surreal at the same time that this woman is not so known in US. There is something so wrong in music business today. What happened to Lara Fabian in early 2000, is happening again to Glennis...I hope i'm wrong about this. Glennis may be the best singer singing live today and it is so wrong if she cannot make her name known everywhere in this planet. She is absolutely divine! In this song she truly shines. I'm out of words to describe the feeling her vocals do to me. Even my headphones have goosebumbs every time.
I thought I didn’t like dutch music, but listen to: - Ken je mij (Rode Hoed) Trijntje Oosterhuis - Zeg me wie je ziet, Trijntje Oosterhuis You might love them like I did. 🙋♀️🌷
Poor life, because our Dutch make trendsetting music from an amazing level. The whole symphonic metal scene is dominated by Dutch singers. These singers are the most.versatile and creative singers of the world. (Zij zingen wat ze willen)
O man ... this one I consider it her best performance so far. Vulnerability combined with passion and power. It cuts scars in the fabric of your heart. This is clearly way more than singing beautifully. I don't want to be disrespectful, but I'm inclined to say "Lady Gaga eat your heart out".
She always is strongly connected to her audience. Not this song. She is all alone with her pain, not aware of any other human being around her. And yet we all suffer with her. That is an incredible level of performing.
Glennis Glennis Glennis ...such a beautiful powerhouse! She doesn't just sing, she tells a story and takes you on an emotional roller coaster. Love all the Lady's of Soul! Thank you HalewijnV for the request and thank you H for another great review! ;-)
Great performance ...Glennis is so incredible good! The last part in Dutch...goosebumbs.. You feel her ....she had her own lovehurts bin through..in life...otherwise you can t sing it like that...Much respect For her skills and soulvibes! Thanks H.for sharing... 🙏😇💜🧜♀️🌍🙏
Ahhh i was surprised to see this song with your reaction. This is one of the most beautiful songs ❤️❤️❤️ i love this so much The dutch part is soooo beautiful 😍❤️
I also send this number off Glennis to you , but i think i did something wrong 😞 glad some one else send it also to you , I love this song so much how Glennis perfomce it ❤
The United States is unreachable for many European musicians and singers. It is a very closed system in the US in which foreign artists get far fewer opportunities than their own artists. But there's something more to it. Do not forget that the European market with over 700 million inhabitants is more than twice as large as the American market with "only" 330 million inhabitants. For European artists, success in the US is nice, but not necessary.
It's interesting to hear you say Americans would love this. She went on AGT and ended in the finals but this didn't land her a new career in the US. In my opinion she was pushed in an American way of performing, which is completely different from what you see her do in The Netherlands. Our approach as Dutch people is often very different from the US. Maybe that is why you are connecting to things like Beste Zangers, De Toppers, Ladies of Soul and the individual artists. The focus is on the music and not on the popularity of the artist. It would be great if they would be recognised outside of The Netherlands but it would be best if they can stay in touch with their own personal approach to the music!
There was a problem with cooperation betwene the American and Dutch management. But she has pease with it. And that is most important. Thanks for your great reactions Greetings from the Netherlands
Good point. The part that still bothers me was her placing in the Top 10 Finalists on AGT. Starting from #10, she was the 9th to be eliminated with all her amazing talent! Bogus runner up acts were placed higher. Bunch of Bull 💩
@@halloweennr2 Is paypal the only way to donate? I haven’t got it, so I only do free requests, but I’m afraid the waitinglist for those is véééry long 🙂
You should also listen to Marco Borsato and Rolf Sanchez with the song : een moment. IT is in dutch but if you want I van give you the translation. The song is about a couple that seperated. The man in the relation is telling the story. Hé is telling what happend and that hé wished that hé could have one moment with her
You mentioned singing gibberish being powerful. But you got to listen to what some people called it the royal medley from the same concert. Ladies of Soul 2019 / Bohemian Rhapsody / Dirty Diana / Diamonds and Pearls. Cover of Queen / King of Pop / Prince. Wish I know how to link it.
Don't forget that we get English lessons on scool on a very young age. On high scool we get English French, German and Netherlands to .So the most people in the Netherlands speaks a little bit English. We also use google translate .Sometimes it sounds very funny🤣 it is not always right. (melkboerenhondenengels) I must refresh my English now because there are many expats here from different countries who want driving lessons by our driving scool in English. On tv we see a lot of american shows and movies with subtitles. And we watch a lot of you tube too. I listen to you without subtitles en i understand everything. It's very nice to talk with people al over the world. we are blessed to have good educations.😉 Paul it might be fun if you look up some education about the Netherlands ,you listen to our music. So maybe it's time to learn about our lives?
Did you know the song 'The fight goes on' by Floor Jansen? She sings the song for a Dutch organisation 'War Child'. This organisation does help children in a warzone or who did experience to be in a war.
She is very good. i no lovw is very beauthiful. But when the played with your feelings/ever and ever in your life/then i say i never loved again.I don't like so much pain. When there come s a wonder back/then i say yes i do. I'm positive: i do have hope😊💯👍😀
The American management wanted full control, including the European part (her part in Ladies of Soul) etc, which she obviously didn’t want. I think she was right.
@@ingridwatsup9671 i also think getting very famous worldwide is not her first priority, most important for Glennis is the happiness of her son, living a healthy and happy life. Spending enough qualitytime with her family and close friends inspite of her very busy career. Making new songs, singing, performing for her audience and fans, staying close to them, working very hard and in the meantime trying to fulfill her dreams.
Could you mabye also react to Ik ben niet van jou and ik kijk naar jou. These are both songs of Glennis herself one a duet with Jimm Bakum. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gJYmW-NKBBI.html
