I watched Puss in Boots as a kid and when this song played I covered my ears. Not because I thought Gaga was "Satanic" or whatever the generic argument was, but because her music and image just genuinely scared me. Nowadays this is probably my fave song on this album lol Weirdly enough, I look at gory death/black metal albums all day long but there's something still really unnerving about the photo shoot for this album. Couldn't tell you what it is

Puss in boots was literally one of my fave movies and when I heard this song at the end I instantly got into it… Lady gaga is my favourite and this song literally reminds me of puss in boots all the time, especially 0:25, that added layer of beats to the first part of the music is added. Also this should have been in puss in boots two! Literally; just imagine a ginger tabby cat with a sword and boots just dancing to this
Honestly that was the one end dance scene I actually not only didn't hate but also loved, it didn't feel out of place at all and felt perfectly in line with the rest of the movie, and yes, it would have been an amazing finisher to Puss In Boots 2 as well
I had no idea this was by Lady Gaga, I just really liked this song in the Puss in Boots end credits as a kid and the new movie coming out made me feel nostalgic.
I remember jamming out to this song as a kid when it played at the end of Puss in Boots... I rewatched it recently and it reminded me of all the memories. The new one is amazing, but nothing beats the nostalgia which the original brings to me.
I don’t think there has ever been a battle cry song for human rights that was louder than this epic track. Not just anthemic for lesbian marriage but for love of all kinds.
@@greatvalue_ethelcain I think the only part that does Is "dont you try to catch me, I'm living on the edge of the law" because puss is an outlaw of saint Ricardo
THEME of the song: Politics: Immigration Laws and Gay Marriage / Religion ㅤ After the noise of a gun being loaded, GaGa says she meets a girl on the East Coast of Los Angeles. The choice of this city was intentional, since the number of Spanish immigrants surpasses the number of national inhabitants. For this reason, GaGa speaks Spanish for a large part of the song, in addition to letting the Latin sound flow throughout the song. GaGa speaks “barrio”, which means neighborhood in Spanish, but in American culture it is used to refer to large urban centers in the USA, and one of them is the east coast of Los Angeles (Arizona is a barrio, record that name more forward will be useful). Also in the introduction, GaGa says that he falls in love with the girl with the floral shorts, but not in front of the judge. And that's where the confusion starts: gay marriage is banned in Los Angeles. GaGa opens the first verse summarizing the ideals of Born This Way's songs: Then invites the girl to get married on the west coast, where gay marriage is allowed - on the west coast of the USA, cities like Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Washington allow civil unions between gays. In the second verse, the girl is the personification of our youth. When GaGa says she's going to fight, cry and die for her (and within the song, for their right to marry on the East Coast), GaGa actually means she's going to fight, cry and die for us, for our generation. In the same verse, GaGa says the bells are ringing in the mountains. They are actually wedding bells, and from there comes another reference to gay civil union: it says that all the boys are kissing, as are the girls, showing a utopian sexual freedom in the middle of America. In the chorus, GaGa tells the judge, who represents America, that she doesn't speak three things: her language, her American and her Jesus Christ. That GaGa does not speak Latin American language everyone knows. Not speaking your Americano has to do with the ‘American Dream’. GaGa fights for the right to gay marriage, immigration laws and equality, and America is still rooted in outdated thinking when it comes to equality. When she said q "I don't speak your language." It means that she doesn't have the same closed mind, she doesn't speak in ignorance... "I don't speak your Jesus Christ', that is, she doesn't use it to justify attitudes of hatred and intolerance. She doesn't put the name of Christ in vain. She speaks of love, of understanding. Because many have a distorted, fanatical view and talk about Jesus, but preaching hate. SHE DOESN'T FOLLOW THAT "JESUS CHRIST THAT MOST PEOPLE FOLLOW, FOR EXAMPLE A "JESUS CHRIST" THAT PREACHES HATE, prejudice and etc. AND YES SHE FOLLOWS THE JESUS CHRIST OF LOVE THAT PREACHES PEACE AND LOVE. At the end of the song, GaGa says not to try to get her as she is living outside the law. At the beginning of the song, she says that she “met a girl on the East Coast of Los Angeles”, showing that she is not from the region, she is actually an immigrant. It is a criticism of immigration laws, which are frequent in these Latin countries with a large influx of immigration, and also a criticism of 'PROP 8', the law that made gay marriage in Arizona invalid and which was an inspiration for the music. This explains why she is a fugitive from the law: she is an immigrant and has revolutionary ideals, such as the right to gay marriage. The song ends tragically, with the sound of a gun being loaded and then fired, hitting the fugitive from the law and showing marks still rooted in the subordination of the government, religion and society.
UU., Ciudades como Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire. ELLA NO SIGUE A "JESUCRISTO QUE LA MAYORÍA DE LAS PERSONAS SIGUE, POR EJEMPLO UN" JESUCRISTO "QUE PREDICA ODIO, prejuicio y etc.
I had no idea that Lady Gaga of all people sang this song I still remembered for years since watching Puss in Boots but didn't know the name of, what a shock.
@@dio8152 this song isnt just about immigrants, it's also about same sex marriage and it's illegal in other states but in west coast aka in California it's legal.
NO I DON'T WANT THIS SONG TO BE POPULAR CAUSE TIKTOK RUINS EVERY SONG WHENEVER A SONG GETS POPULAR ON TIKTOK PEOPLE WILL CALL IT A TIKTOK SONG I REMEMBER THIS SONG WHEN I WAS A KID PEOPLE WILL ONLY KNOW IT ON TIKTOK
When my mom threw me out for being trans and bi, my girlfriend took me to her home and this was on the radio. My gender and sexuality aren't forbidden by law in my country, but we are still abused, murdered, and disrespected on a daily basis.
I wish so badly that I could go back in time and listen to this again for the first time. STILL gives me goosebumps. There's no other song like this out there
KillianWtft WHAT?!!! What in my comment made you think I was a homophobe?! Are you OK? I didn't mention this theme at all! I completely don't see any sense in your comment. Did you understand what I had written?
"This is a story of a Cat who became Hero. An Outlaw dedicated to Justice and a Lover to Beautiful Women. And great, great Lover.....+heh heh+ It's really crazy. I am *PUSS IN BOOTS* !!!! And my name will be *LEGEND!!* "
